[Komeiji Koishi cosplay] Touhou Project: Garden Lolita Frock Meets Handwritten Typographic Watermarks

For this project, I commissioned a dedicated typographer to craft custom handwritten English calligraphy overlays; seeing them integrated across the finished compositions brought a remarkably refined, editorial texture. Handling my own makeup styling and post-processing, I am genuinely pleased with the final aesthetic.

The wig was chosen in a soft moss-green crop, tailored into textured layers that contour the face. Cosmetics demanded a luminous, porcelain base; the eye makeup combined subtle teal and earthy neutrals for a soft smudged effect, deliberately preserving negative space under the lower lids to cultivate her signature detached yet enigmatic gaze. An obsidian wide-brimmed boater hat adorned with a sunny yellow ribbon created an immediate, vivid chromatic contrast against the green tresses.

The Lolita fashion gown is packed with intricate detailing: a bright yellow bodice spliced with black lace ruffles, flowing into a skirt built from layered black and jade tulle laden with sculpted, three-dimensional green roses. Because the heavy yardage threatened the silhouette, I reinforced the structure with double bell-shaped petticoats, carefully smoothing the drape whether seated or standing to prevent crushing. For legwear, sheer black hosiery paired with lace-up ankle boots sculpted the leg lines while lending tailored balance against the opulent extravagance of the upper dress in this Black stockings cosplay look.

The Greenhouse photography shoot was bathed in natural sunbeams cascading through glass ceilings and side panes, beautifully picking up leaf textures and delicate fabric weaves. Weathered wooden benches and vintage glass vases served as organic props. Leaning against a timber chair while resting my chin in one hand, foreground foliage and white daisies were framed close to the lens to create painterly bokeh and spatial depth. I guided the photographer to lean into diffused natural illumination, softening skin gradations while letting rim backlighting catch the moss-green hair fibers.

In post-production, I lifted overall luminance to heighten the dialogue between vibrant yellows and verdant greens. Incorporating the typographer's elegant calligraphy alongside outer copyright rings transformed the photographs into styled concept illustrations. From location scouting to retouching, every single detail held its ground.
