Shooting this Lunar New Year Rem cosplay happened right at the tail end of The Lantern Festival. The outfit chosen this time is an interwoven red-and-gold design featuring a high slit and waist cutouts, complemented by a red halter neck and detachable sleeves, making the look exceptionally eye-catching on camera. It was paired with Black stockings and leg straps, along with golden pointed high heels and armbands to keep the visual focus sharp and centered.

The fabric is structured and crisp; the gold prints on the red base reflected light under warm studio illumination, requiring delicate highlight control in post-production to preserve fine details. For headwear, the blue wig was adorned with red hair clips, a black-and-red bow, and white floral and feather accents, creating a complete and cohesive silhouette. The greatest challenge during shooting was maintaining poses: because the dress is form-fitting and features a high slit, the skirt hem needed constant adjustment to prevent wardrobe malfunctions.

The set was arranged in a Chinese-style wooden studio featuring curio shelves, rosewood chairs, and a daybed, with red runners and white plush rugs laid across the floor. The background was decorated with plum blossom branches, golden leaves, red lanterns inscribed with "Fu" (fortune), and red firecrackers, radiating a rich holiday atmosphere. Numerous props were used during the shoot, including gold ingots, a small basket with oranges and cherries, red candied haws (tanghulu), a round silk fan, an oil-paper umbrella, and a pipa.

The first seated setup was shot on a wooden chair, where the angle of crossing legs was vital to visually elongate leg lines, working best with a low-angle camera perspective. Poses holding the gold ingot and candied haws required synchronized eye focus to appear effortless rather than forced. The shot lying prone on the floor demanded core strength while accentuating the back and leg lines. The final Chinese-style maid outfit with a white apron presented a distinct style: a red frog-button top and black skirt paired with Black stockings, switching to red bow high heels, using the round fan or candied haws as subtle framing elements to look more playful. The pipa prop was noticeably heavy, requiring careful support positioning during poses.

For post-processing, we mainly adjusted the warm-cool contrast of the skin tones to let the warm background juxtapose against the blue hair, while smoothing out fabric creases. We also did pickups with fish lanterns, whose diffuse reflections rendered facial tones wonderfully soft. Although the session ran long, it was deeply engaging—every prop switch called for finding fresh angles, making it a richly rewarding cosplay experience for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.
