Pre-production for this Zhen Hai look was relatively brief, yet considerable thought went into the finer details. The outfit features a pale-pink fitted corset paired with a high-waisted black mini skirt, draped with a shimmering sheer black chiffon train. The asymmetrical tailoring and lace borders substantially elevated the garment's overall texture. To align with the character's presence, I slipped into sheer black opera gloves, matched with a broad golden choker and hair accessory, while trimming the wig into sleek straight hair with blunt bangs. For makeup, crimson circle lenses paired with reddish-brown eyeshadow and classic red lipstick, along with slightly winged-out liner, brought forth an alluring, subtly aggressive cold elegance.

The venue was set in a vintage style indoor bar adorned with exquisite antique props. A retro brass-horn gramophone, a red rotary dial telephone, a vintage globe, and scattered banknotes and playing cards across the floor enriched the visual narrative. To convey her effortless poise, the goblet in hand was filled with black tea, perfectly simulating fine wine without affecting my composure on set.

Because of the slit design in the skirt, the photographer continually guided my poses—crossing legs or leaning against tables and chairs to emphasize the sleek lines of the black stockings and red-soled heels. The pairing of black stockings with patent leather heels remarkably elongated my leg lines, while the flowing train added depth to the composition. In one sequence sitting atop the table scattering banknotes, I tossed them five or six times to capture that effortless freeze-frame; the final kinetic motion was a delightful surprise. The warm amber side-lighting served as a major highlight, rendering smooth skin tones while perfectly enveloping the tavern in a rich, nostalgic mood.

In cosplay photography, capturing a character extends far beyond garments and props into mastering attitude and ambiance. Zhen Hai carries an unhurried, unflappable grace, so I consciously kept my posture relaxed, letting subtle glances and calm lines convey that effortless, languid sophistication. Although this location shoot was physically tiring, seeing the final images made every preparation thoroughly worthwhile.
