[Lena cosplay] The Dreamy and Fresh Moment of 86 -Eighty Six-

This photoshoot for the Magical Girl cosplay Lena outfit had the core goal of capturing that lightweight and sacred dreamy feel. The entire look is dominated by ice blue and pure white, with local pale gold accents, making the color scheme extremely clean and pure. To present that innocent yet slightly detached atmosphere from the original setting, a lot of effort went into the choice of clothing materials.

The upper body is an off-shoulder white ruffled short sleeve, with edges widened, which, combined with the golden piping, provides excellent layering under light refraction. The light blue satin skirt hem of the lower body adopts a rich multi-layered pleated design, so whether sitting or kneeling, the skirt hem can present a naturally fluffy arc without looking thin. The starburst ornament at the waist connection also adds a touch of refinement.

What I like most about this styling is the white pointed glove on the hand. The ring of golden beads at the glove opening not only enriches the details but also enhances the overall magnificence. During the actual shoot, the glove was perfect for forward extensions or slight curling movements, beautifully guiding the visual focus. The white linear halo on the head is the soul prop; its lines are extremely slender, floating above the head, adding an ethereal and sacred quality to the entire character.

In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on the eye makeup. Transparent light blue colored contacts were chosen to echo the hair color, and the outer corners of the eyes were subtly blended with light red eyeshadow, making the gaze look both spirited and slightly cool. The base makeup was kept translucent and bright, which, combined with the model's fair skin, gave off a porcelain-doll-like texture under the light.

The layout and lighting of this photography session were also a major highlight. The overall atmosphere focused on being 'soft' and 'translucent.' To create a dreamy feel, we used a large amount of white hydrangea elements interspersed in the scene, paired with light blue gauze. In terms of lighting, it was basically in a high-key soft light state, utilizing a large softbox to press the shadows very faint, ensuring that the skin tone and the white parts of the costume wouldn't be overexposed while presenting that shimmering effect.

A classical frame with gold carvings and a white Roman column prop were also specially placed in the background. The addition of these European elements can neutralize the overly 'sweet' feeling, bringing out a bit of the magical girl's sacredness and mystery.

The shooting process actually tested the grasp of expression and posture quite a bit. Because this ice blue style clothing itself is relatively complex with many ruffles and flowing gauze, movements that are too large could easily look cluttered. Therefore, when guiding the model, we adopted more reserved, interactive postures. For example, extending one hand forward gently like in picture one, as if trying to touch something; kneeling in prayer, or facing the camera directly with both hands to display the details—these movements could showcase the details of the skirt hem and hand accessories while beautifully balancing the overall composition.

Because of the lightweight feel of the costume, combined with the long white stockings, the crouching or sitting posture could beautifully showcase the leg lines and the layers of the skirt hem. Although adjusting the position of the skirt hem and the halo often consumed a lot of time during the shoot, the final result was highly worth it. Taking the helm ourselves combined with the model's expressiveness gave this Magical Girl Lena look a strong visual presentation. The entire work didn't have too many complex special effects; instead, it tried to utilize the real-scene lighting and the texture of the costume itself, striving to naturally and realistically restore this character's magical girl form for this exercise in Dreamy Portrait Photography.
