I've always been looking forward to cosplaying Moria Ruruka from Detective Precure!, and this time I finally completed this photo set with the photographer at the CGF anime convention venue.

The costume actually had a lot of detailed work done on it—the black-and-gold color-blocked stiff fabric outlines the silhouette of the overall look. Paired with a white base pink layered skirt, along with a heart-shaped gem accenting the black bow tie, it creates a rich sense of visual layering. The wig's bangs and sideburns were curled into anime-style spiral curls, and the ahoge on top is definitely the soul of it, which, combined with the black headband featuring a purple gem on the forehead, brings even higher fidelity to the entire look.

The prop magic wand in hand is a highlight; the purple long handle paired with flower-shaped and card-shaped decorations at the top feels very substantial in hand. To reinforce the overall Magical Girl cosplay temperament, I specifically chose black thigh-high stockings for the lower body, trimmed with gold edges at the top, paired with black-and-gold color-blocked chunky high heels. This combination not only provides a visual lengthening effect, but the texture of the stockings also adds elegance and refinement to the whole outfit.

For this shoot, we mainly used three different sets of poses. The first photo is kneeling, placing the prop vertically in front, looking quiet overall. The second and third photos switched to standing poses; I specifically tried bending one leg slightly and reaching a hand toward the camera front, which not only displays the skirt and stockings but also expresses Moria Ruruka's confidence and agility in her character positioning. The black, white, and gray outfit accented with purple appears very lustrous under the bright studio lights inside the booth.

The shooting background was near a booth inside the convention hall, with a gray plush round mat laid on the floor. The black softboxes and reflective umbrellas around were very clear; this slightly industrial backstage background actually highlights the character itself even better. Although the convention site was bustling and noisy, light sources were sufficient, and working with the photographer allowed me to quickly get into the zone.

During outfit fitting and shooting, I also gained a deeper appreciation of this character—beneath the gorgeous exterior is a dedication to detail. Every cosplay, whether it's the touch of the fabric or managing the wig, is a learning process. Being able to recreate the character this time and freeze it visually in photos brings a sense of fulfillment I seek within this subculture.

The entire shooting process lasted several dozen minutes. Although studio shooting and walking around the convention site took some physical energy, the final photos perfectly captured the ideal vibe and blended nicely into the exhibition environment.
