The convention photos of my Reze cosplay from the Long Dimension Comic-Con are finally sorted. I handled both the photography and modeling myself, tackling everything from hair and makeup to shooting hands-on.

First, let's talk about the styling concepts for hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Reze's purple short hair is instantly recognizable. I layered and thinned the wig, keeping long bangs across the forehead and tying a small bun on the side so it would flow naturally during movement and posing. For makeup, I focused heavily on enhancing the eyes—wearing light hazel contact lenses, winged eyeliner tilting upward at the outer corners, sweeping soft pink blush across the cheeks, and finishing with a rosy lip tint to convey a cool detachment infused with languid charm. For the outfit, I opted for a sleeveless white collared shirt with a black necktie, paired with black high-waisted shorts. The black leather choker around the neck was the finishing touch, perfectly aligning with her signature style. To add visual depth, I paired over-the-knee Black stockings with black loafers; whether standing or crouching, this gracefully elongated the leg line while delivering a sharp, clean black-and-white contrast.

For props, I prepared a bouquet of white daisies. The presence of daisies offered a striking contrast against the dark, edgy aesthetic. During the shoot, I explored varied interactions—such as biting a stem between my lips, or cradling the bouquet while looking back over my shoulder. My holding poses shifted organically: tucking the bouquet behind my back with one hand on my hip, or squatting while flashing an 'OK' sign, striving to infuse static frames with narrative tension. My favorite shot is the standing profile: shifting weight onto one leg with a subtle torso turn, letting the hand holding the bouquet drop naturally. This perspective beautifully displayed the proportions between the shorts and the long stockings, while keeping the choker and tie crisp and visible.

The shooting setting was placed in front of a gray textured cement wall with horizontal striped floor mats. Setting up the lighting in the studio area, I angled the key light from the front-diagonal to cast clean highlights across the face and shoulders while letting shadows fall behind, knocking down the background to emphasize my silhouette. Since these were fast-paced convention photos, I utilized a medium telephoto lens to compress spatial depth and eliminate perspective distortion. For color grading, I preserved the cool-gray ambient tone while nudging contrast up slightly, intensifying the stark light-and-dark dynamic between the white shirt and black shorts.

Shooting solo at a convention is a serious test of stamina and mental focus. Operating the camera, framing compositions, and immersing oneself into character without an assistant is a unique creative experience. The feedback on these photos has been very encouraging. I plan to introduce more complex lighting setups and diverse environments in the upcoming full photoshoot, exploring how this look translates across different moods.
