This official photoshoot set of Reze's formal dress from CICF D2 has finally met everyone. This time I'm wearing a pure black high-slit strapless long dress. Ever since the day I received the costume, I've been looking forward to seeing what kind of effect we could capture with this shoot.

The costume is from Qiezi Jiang i, and the first impression upon receiving it is that the details are very solid. The texture of the lace splicing on the chest is soft and doesn't look stiff, the tailoring of the skirt hem naturally fans out when walking, and the high-slit position is just right for showcasing leg lines. To restore the character's temperament, I added quite a few details to the styling. The purple short hair was pre-trimmed and styled, specifically leaving a few strands of stray hair to block the sides of the face, creating better layering on camera. A white daisy pinned behind the ear adds a bit of contrast within the overall dark-leaning tone. Semi-transparent long black gloves and a choker with a metal ring are the keys to enhancing presence, while the black leather leg straps adorned with silver metal buckles and red accents visually elongate the leg shape well, though they need occasional positional adjustments while walking.

In terms of props, a black gun and a white daisy bouquet were prepared. The plastic texture of the gun looks quite substantial through post-processing of light and shadow. The shooting was conducted outdoors at night, and photographer Teacher Hanchuan-Wenjin is extremely proficient in controlling the lighting for night portraits. The difficulty of nighttime shooting lies in balancing the fill light on the main subject with the ambient background light; we found several spots under streetlights by the roadside, utilizing the contrast between cool and warm light sources to highlight the character. The warm yellow building lights and cool blue streetlights in the background formed an obvious cool-warm collision, and the blurred bokeh makes the frame look more layered. To cooperate with the lens, I switched back and forth between sitting and semi-squatting poses; maintaining these poses while wearing high heels is actually quite a test of core strength, causing some soreness in the soles and ankles.

Although the temperature on the day of the anime convention wasn't stuffy, walking back and forth outside the venue wearing this long dress still made me sweat a lot. Because the skirt hem is quite long, extra care had to be taken when going up and down steps and weaving through crowds, constantly fearing someone would step on the skirt. After meeting up with the photographer, we seized the time to adjust our state before dark completely fell. During the shoot, I kept reminding myself to keep my gaze detached and stern, while keeping my shoulders relaxed and my back straight. The long gloves and choker might leave marks, but expressions must remain natural in front of the camera. This styling is not a particularly daily style; wearing it makes you instinctively want to stand straighter.

Doing cosplay has always been something that requires a lot of energy and patience for me—from makeup tests and costume adjustments to cooperating with on-site shooting, every link involves a lot of trivial work. But the final presentation effect of this formal dress under the night scene made me feel that all these efforts truly paid off. Every photo release is a brand new attempt, and I am also slowly exploring how to more naturally express the character's feeling in front of the lens. At this anime convention, I also met many friends who recognized this styling at a glance, and our conversations made the entire shooting process much more relaxed. I hope this set of pictures allows everyone to feel the unique charm of this formal dress under the night light, and I'll have the opportunity to try some new style looks at the next anime convention.
