This time choosing Reze's white shirt and black shorts look was mainly because I was drawn to this sharp and capable feel. The cut and fit of the clothes are crucial; the sleeveless white shirt is opened slightly at the neckline, which visually elongates the neck line. The long, thin black ribbon tied into a bow is a very classic detail—it shouldn't be tied too rigidly, leaving a slight drape makes it look more natural. The high-waisted black shorts on the lower half have a clean cut, sitting right at the narrowest part of the waistline. Paired with over-the-knee black stockings, posing with a slight turn of the body and extended legs during the shoot optimizes body proportions wonderfully.
Trimming and styling the wig took quite a lot of time this time. If worn directly, the purple wig would look very heavy. The bangs were trimmed to just cover the right eye without obstructing vision. Some sideburns were left along the left cheek to flatter the face shape. To make the hairstyle look more natural, I used hair wax to create some texture, preventing the wig from looking too flat against the scalp.
In terms of makeup, the green contact lenses are the finishing touch. The eye makeup wasn't drawn too heavily, focusing instead on clearly separated eyelashes and the contour of the eyeliner. The blush was applied slightly higher on the cheekbones, which, combined with slightly parted lips, presents a somewhat playful expression.
The shooting took place in an indoor venue, where the overhead strip lights provided very uniform lighting. This kind of lighting actually tests the cleanliness of the makeup, so my base makeup was applied relatively thin and sheer. To keep the frame from looking monotonous, I leaned my body slightly during the shoot, with my right hand gently touching my chin and my left hand behind my back. This pose not only showcases the curves of the waist but also gives the image a more interactive feel.
For the material of this outfit, I chose a fabric with a bit of crispness so that it wouldn't produce too many wrinkles during movement, maintaining that sharp tailoring feel. To avoid making the image look rigid, I tried different standing postures, such as a slight hip hitch or utilizing the height difference of the shoulders to create dynamic bodily beauty. Black stockings have a slight reflection under the light; choosing a matte material makes the texture look better and fits the overall black tone more closely.
During this photography process, it was more about communicating with the photographer on how to better present the texture of the clothes and the character's expression. Without too many complex backgrounds, the visual focus was instead concentrated on the character herself. Through this look, one can also feel that even with relatively casual clothing, as long as care is put into the tailoring, details, makeup, and hair, the character's unique charm can be faithfully restored. Cosplay is not just about putting on a costume, but getting closer to the character's state through these details. This attempt also gave me many new insights into clothing matching and camera performance.
