For this shoot featuring Kisaki in her default outfit, the overarching visual style leaned toward an exquisite fusion of traditional Chinese flair and 2D aesthetics. The attire consists of a dark blue sleeveless mini qipao accented with light blue edge piping, adorned with a light blue floral frog button at the neckline, while the golden dragon embroidery across the chest serves as the visual centerpiece. To faithfully recreate the character's hairstyle, I wore a black wig with blunt bangs styled into symmetrical high hair buns on each side, pinned with blue-and-white butterfly hair accessories. The makeup utilized a crisp, porcelain-fair base paired with light-colored contacts and natural-toned lips, aligning the facial proportions closely with anime character aesthetics.
On the day of the shoot, we prepared several distinct set concepts. The first scene utilized a seamless pure white wall with white cylindrical pillars; to align with Default outfit Kisaki's pose references, I explored various seated postures. The pose in photo 1 has me seated atop the cylinder with my right knee raised and left leg extended naturally—an angle that flatters the leg contours wonderfully. To heighten the atmosphere, dry ice was used beneath the legs to generate rolling mist, infusing the frame with an aura of mystery. When shooting in dark stockings, keeping them smooth and taut is paramount; I spent plenty of time smoothing them out before shooting to ensure there were no snags or fabric creases, allowing them to display an even, flawless texture under strong studio lights.
We subsequently transitioned to the bamboo rattan armchair set. In photo 2, I gently clasped my cascading long hair with one hand, sitting on the rattan chair with crossed legs in a relatively languid, relaxed demeanor. When executing these poses, I centered my balance across my waist and legs, maintaining natural posture while seeking the most flattering angles. The posture in photo 3 featured a wider range of motion, raising both legs with feet directed toward the lens—a pose demanding solid core strength to maintain balance, requiring multiple attempts to dial in the framing angle. Photo 4 features sitting in the rattan chair with one hand raised, where crossed legs introduced dynamic depth to the silhouette lines.
The entire shoot was quite demanding on physical stamina, particularly holding specific rigid postures while repeatedly calibrating against lighting and smoke effects. To capture the character's inner composure, I poured considerable effort into makeup and expression control, avoiding exaggerated smiles to preserve a calm, slightly detached demeanor. The material of this default costume is quite form-fitting; in selecting pose references, I strove to showcase the tailoring and nuances of the garment while staying faithful to canon lore. I hope this set allows everyone to appreciate the fine details of this styling, and I look forward to exploring more diverse pose references ahead.
