The biggest highlight of this styling is undoubtedly the thick, long golden Long hair wig. The braided design of the Long hair wig is gorgeous, adorned with colorful flowers all over; when sitting by the flowerbed, the ends of the hair trailed all the way down to the ground, creating an impressive visual impact.
However, the drawback of this beauty was that the wig was genuinely heavy. Holding up the weight of the hair throughout the day left my hands and shoulders quite sore. During the shoot, striking poses to let the braid drape naturally while keeping the entire style intact was a true test of physical stamina.
In terms of makeup, to capture the character's sweetness, I used generous amounts of blush paired with enlarged eye makeup. Under the theme park's natural lighting, it blended richly with the purplish-pink dress. The fabric of the costume is also quite exquisite, with the lace trim and chest lace-up design offering great texture.
This shoot took place at Shanghai Disney Resort (a great Shanghai photoshoot booking experience), where the backdrop in front of the castle suited this look perfectly. To capture more natural, breathing shots, I chose to pose barefoot on the flagstone floor. Framed against the flowerbed and the distant castle, it nicely accentuated the drape of the skirt and overall body proportions, making it the most photogenic angle.
Despite the heavy costume and weighted wig, the passersby were incredibly warm, coming over one after another to take photos together. Although physically exhausted by the end of the day, the experience was joyful and fulfilling. Because the braid was so long, it drew many onlookers, making movement through crowded areas quite challenging, but it was all worth it to faithfully recreate this magnificent Disney Princess look. As for candid details during the shoot—such as the photo of eating pizza at the restaurant in the evening—it was taken in a genuine dining setting, adding a lovely Theme park daily atmosphere.
Lastly, huge thanks to all the photographer friends for their snapshots. Spending time at the park is pure happiness, and being able to appear in my favorite theme park with this Princess Rapunzel cosplay look was a truly special experience. This shoot deepened my understanding of prop and overall makeup control, and I look forward to bringing more high-quality on-location works in the future.
