For this shoot, we selected an indoor European vintage background featuring wooden stairs and arched doorways. The overall ambient tone leaned warm, perfectly complementing this white dress and red eye look. The light blue wig was trimmed along the bangs and sideburns, accented with a white feather headpiece. The red colored contacts were chosen with strong translucency, paired with cool-toned red eyeshadow in this Eye makeup sharing to look clearer and purer under warm lighting. The base makeup was applied sheerly, as the white dress gives off a cool detachment, and an overly heavy base would make the makeup look muddy. The garment details were refined as well: the white spaghetti-strap dress was form-fitting, and premium materials were used for the white feathers on the neckline and shoulders; though styling them took time, they appeared remarkably airy under the studio lights. The blue satin bow at the waist was custom-made with a rich sheen, creating a harmonious color echo with the light blue wig.
Controlling indoor lighting during the shoot was tricky, requiring continuous repositioning so that both the face and the delicate tulle skirt hem caught the light evenly. Since the overall tone was cool, color balancing was performed in post-processing to avoid blown-out highlights. I experimented with diverse angles; among them, glancing back over the shoulder best showcased the shoulder and neck lines alongside the dimensional layering of the feathers. For a character with an inherent sense of distance, maintaining a calm demeanor and a subtle downward tilt of the head conveys her temperament far better than forcing a smile. The fourth photo is a mirror selfie documenting the state right after finishing makeup and styling; in comparison, the European vintage background in the earlier shots suited this look best.
Preparing the full set of costumes, makeup, and props went smoothly; the red eyes paired with the white dress and European vintage background created a serene, antique aesthetic. The photoshoot also provided valuable experience in lighting control. Wig root treatments and feather fastening methods were further refined based on previous cosplay experiences. The overall shooting atmosphere was fantastic, making for a comprehensive and rewarding endeavor. Although wearing contact lenses for a long time made my eyes dry and we frequently paused to smooth out skirt wrinkles, seeing the finished results made every bit of effort worthwhile. The European vintage background paired with the clean red, white, and blue palette worked wonderfully, capturing the ideal gaze.
