Bringing Cyrene to life this time took a great deal of effort from pre-production through final editing. In terms of costume crafting and styling, the main focus was staying true to the original design—details like the blue rose choker and the heart-shaped halo overhead effectively enhanced the dreamy girly style during the actual shoot. To properly showcase the layered skirt, specific sitting poses and angles were chosen to emphasize the outfit's lightness and texture through lighting. Pairing white over-the-knee socks with silver high heels elongated the leg proportions, which greatly complemented the final look. During shooting, the photographer made deliberate adjustments to the lighting, using soft diffusion along with purple-pink ambient light to simulate an ethereal atmosphere. Given the numerous pillars and floral backdrops in the scene, composition had to be carefully managed to keep the subject from drifting too close to the edges. For retouching, the focus remained on preserving natural skin texture while highlighting the details of the legs and socks to give the entire set a polished feel. To nail the character, multiple rounds of hair and makeup tests were conducted, particularly for the pink wig styling and expressive eye makeup. My genuine love for Honkai: Star Rail was the driving motivation behind taking on this character. I firmly believe that great cosplay is not just about faithful costumes, props, and makeup, but about conveying the character's unique aura through photographs—a presence that requires close collaboration between cosplayer and photography team. No exaggerated filters were applied to these photos, preserving realistic color perception to offer an immersive visual experience. We experimented with varied poses, such as seated side profiles and diagonal compositions, primarily to display the different ways the skirt cascades. Careful thought went into the step-standing angles so that the smooth surface of the socks caught and reflected the ambient light nicely. Post-processing also focused on hair texture, ensuring every strand looked silky and natural. Though the shoot was exhausting, seeing the finished work made every bit of hard work worthwhile. With every cosplay, I strive to stay true to my passion, unearth the character's defining highlights, and bring them to life through the lens. I hope to keep this passion burning, keep progressing in cosplay, and deliver more satisfying work for everyone.
