This time, I tried a rock band-themed magazine cover style using Rei Ayanami. I made significant adaptations to the clothing, replacing the classic student uniform with a combination of patchwork denim, an open-back camisole, and a plush jacket, accessorized with red and blue straps and metal chains. With the iconic blue hair and beret, the overall look presents a rebellious yet exquisite biker girl vibe. For the shoot, I specifically built an industrial-style scene with old televisions, warning tape, and oil drums, supplemented by a clapperboard to enhance the vibe of a film set and high-fashion magazine spread. The lighting was chosen to be strong top and side light, highlighting the texture of the denim and the finish of the metal accessories. The action design incorporated exaggerated model poses such as hand-on-head, glancing back, and straddling an oil drum, hoping to break through Rei Ayanami's usual icy image and display a stronger fashion tension. Post-production layout was the key focus this time; I personally participated in the design, keeping the color scheme and font selection as close as possible to real fashion magazines. This attempt was not only an expansion of the character image but also a practice in visual communication and design. Although the clothing isn't the original design, it was very interesting to revitalize a classic character through this stylized reimagining.
