Flipping through the photo album and seeing this photo taken with Bai-ge from last year's Genshin Impact Fes, I just remembered to share it now. The venue was so crowded back then with long queues for photos. After finally snatching a slightly open corner, I quickly grabbed Bai-ge to snap this cherished picture. The height difference in this photo turned out absolutely incredible! The blue-and-white robe outfit on the left goes for an elegant, noble style with great fabric drape. The gold tassels at the waist and shoulder accent details look very textured under the bright hall lights. Paired with those thick-soled black leather shoes, it not only elongates the stature but also carries a powerful presence.
Bai-ge's outfit on the right takes a completely different route: a white mandarin collar shirt paired with loose orange shorts, black leg gaiters, and eye-catching red-strapped flip-flops, creating an overall look that is crisp and capable. This collision of red and blue, long and short, ended up looking very harmonious even under the complex lighting of an Anime convention, establishing a great visual balance. The handling of the hat and wig was also done with care; the overall hair styling and skin tone complement each other naturally without any exaggerated heaviness.
We adjusted our standing positions and poses for a while during shooting. To highlight the height contrast, Bai-ge turned his body slightly, and I adjusted my shoulder posture accordingly to make the frame more dynamic. The blue water-textured display platform and bright orange artificial tree props behind us added rich layering to the photo, and this color scheme happened to fit the Inazuma elemental atmosphere perfectly. Although the convention floor was noisy, this photo captured a relatively natural and relaxed moment for us, with hand gestures and eye contact being spot on without stiff, forced posing.
Having done cosplay for so many years, whenever cosplaying characters with complex outfits, the wearing and shooting process always requires a lot of effort. I still remember queuing early in the morning to enter the hall, navigating through crowded venues while dodging visitors pushing luggage, searching for less crowded spots for shots, and constantly adjusting costume details crushed in the crowd. Although it was heavy physical labor, harvesting such high-quality group photos in the end made it completely worth it. Plus, Bai-ge is super nice and highly experienced in capturing camera angles and utilizing ambient light around exhibition booths, making the exposure and color grading of the entire shot feel extremely comfortable.
Looking back, the offline atmosphere at Genshin Impact Fes was indeed amazing, allowing everyone to see various meticulously prepared cosplay works where everyone shared immense passion. Even though this photo was taken last year, browsing through it now still brings back great feelings—the pure joy of focusing on doing something you love and enjoying it is real. Having such high-quality full-body photos recorded serves as a fantastic footnote to all the hard preparation and rushing around at the scene back then.
