[Kamisato Ayaka Cosplay] Genshin Impact: The Kamisato Clan's Eldest Daughter Arrives in an Ice-Themed Formal Dress

Putting on this strapless formal dress woven with ice blue and pure white to start our outdoor location shoot in front of the building's glass curtain wall, the overall look and makeup completion turned out much higher than I had expected.

First off, let's talk about the design of the costume itself—this time I chose a variation style leaning toward a formal dress. The upper body features a white strapless shaping structure that not only beautifully highlights the shoulder and neck lines, but also supports the weight of the garment well. The outer layer is paired with an ice-blue transparent tulle puff skirt; the tulle texture is remarkably light and airy, adorned with delicate lace trimmings along the edges. The detached sleeves are separate and removable, with the light blue fluffy fur trim at the ends visually adding a touch of fall/winter softness while neutralizing the plainness of a strapless dress.

The lower body is paired with white thigh-high socks and silver glossy stiletto pumps. The elastic band of the long socks fits just right, leaving a visually pleasing layer on the thighs during squatting, sitting, or single-leg standing poses. The silver stilettos, combined with the draping feel of the tulle skirt, make the whole look appear very agile and delicate. As for props, the dark folding fan held in my hand features hand-drawn gilded cloud and water ripple patterns; whether partially hiding my face or extending overhead to stretch, this folding fan guides the visual focus beautifully.

Regarding hairstyle and makeup, to fit the character's cool and noble aura, I wore a long silver-blue curly wig with classic straight bangs and sideburns styled. Small white ribbon bows were tied on both sides to add a touch of youthful charm. To match the visual design, I wore ice-blue contact lenses, and selected eyeshadow in cool-toned pale pink and light blue. Paired with a matte base makeup, it makes the overall look appear brighter and cleaner. A delicate thin pearl chain around the neck serves as a subtle accent that feels exquisite without being flashy.

The shooting process really tested on-the-spot performance. Because this kind of tulle puff skirt has a large volume and is accompanied by a long train, it easily gets blown out of control by the wind during outdoor photography. However, it is precisely this wind that gave the photos a sense of dynamic vitality instead. Standing on one leg elongated leg proportions while bringing out the flowing movement of the skirt hem; poses with the fan required careful angle adjustment to avoid obscuring the chin and neckline. The photographer used a lower angle perspective, perfectly capturing the reflective sparkle of the dress sequins while making my posture look taller and full of presence.

Portraying the character of Kamisato Ayaka requires more than just recreating her outward appearance—expression and demeanor are equally crucial. As the eldest daughter of the Kamisato Clan, her effortless poise and elegance, as well as the gentleness she reveals between battles, must be embodied through body language. During the shoot, I tried my best to control the intensity of my expressions, keeping my composure between completely relaxed and slightly taut. The opening and closing motions of the folding fan, combined with the flow of my gaze, allowed the character to carry her own story rather than standing stiffly.

Finally, regarding the experience of wearing this kind of formal dress, I'd like to share a few small tips for cosplayers who want to try it. Strapless designs place high demands on shoulder and neck lines, so doing some stretches before shooting is recommended. Additionally, the tulle outer skirt easily hitches on personal belongings or gaps in floor tiles; when holding the fan, be sure to keep it away from the skirt hem to prevent accidental snagging. Meanwhile, long trains get dirty easily outdoors, so having an assistant on standby to help organize the skirt hem is highly suggested to ensure clean and crisp photo results.

Although this shoot faced minor challenges with strong winds and difficult mobility, seeing the soft, crystal-clear colors and lively postures in the final photos made me feel truly happy. Through the synergy of costume and props, expressing the character's gentle yet sharp state made for a deeply fulfilling outdoor location shoot experience.
