[Tamamo no Mae cosplay] Lively Fox Spirit Among Splendor

This Exotic style outfit of Tamamo no Mae from Fate/Grand Order is filled with mysterious and enchanting tension even within the game. Being able to faithfully recreate this classic image on site this time, from finalizing the plan to the final photos, I put considerable thought into hair and makeup details as well as creating the scene's atmosphere.

The wig selected a vibrant pink shade, with the curves of the bangs and side locks carefully trimmed. The Fox ears props atop the head were specially made with faux fur stitching and fixed support—the outer layer features white short plush, while the inner ear uses an orange-yellow gradient. Golden tassel pendants at the base of the ear tips swing naturally with head movements, enhancing visual vividness. Makeup leaned toward light tones, emphasizing eye contours to give the gaze a playful yet slightly wild feel.

The outfit mainly features large areas of white. The top consists of wide white bell sleeves, with a fixed golden embossed pattern chest guard on the front, creating a wonderful material contrast between metallic texture and white fabric. The waist features a very wide golden girdle with exquisite hanging tassels along the edges, which brightens up the entire look wonderfully when worn. On my wrists and ankles, I wore golden wide metal cuffs, which served as visual accent elements that remained consistent with the overall magnificent tone.

Shooting set design was also a highlight this time. The photographer and I set up a space filled with Exotic style atmosphere. The main golden throne featured intricate, exquisite carvings, exuding a strong royal court feel. The floor was covered with Bohemian-patterned woven carpets interlacing red, blue, and yellow tones, creating rich layers and textures. Nearby, aged golden candlesticks and dark plant leaf props were arranged, giving the frame both a luxurious feel and a touch of mysterious nomadic charm.

For pose presentation, I intentionally chose sitting on the throne's edge with one foot raised to step on a fabric cushion. This pose required strong core strength to balance, but its advantage lay in fully displaying the loose silhouette of the harem pants and the bare skin feel of being barefoot. Being barefoot is a key setting for Tamamo no Mae cosplay, and the real sensation of stepping on the cushion made it easier to immerse into the character's mindset. When lifting the golden long-necked pitcher in my hand, I constantly adjusted wrist strength to make it look like a relaxed, casual yet magnificent gesture.

Lighting setup on the day of the shoot was also meticulous. The photographer used warm-toned hard light as the main light source, striking down from a side-overhead angle to give the white pants strong contour highlights, while golden accessories reflected a brilliant texture. The strong light-and-shadow contrast gave the image greater 3D depth, unifying overall color tones within a glittering golden atmosphere.

Although this look included numerous costume accessories requiring frequent adjustments of dress hems, wigs, and tassel positions during shooting, the final renders preserved both light-and-shadow texture and the character's unique lively feel remarkably well. This photoshoot was not only a wonderful recreation of the original character from Fate/Grand Order, but also allowed me to gain plenty of new experience in Exotic style photography sessions.
