[Belle cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Summer Beach Holiday

Bringing Belle's summer holiday look to life took roughly two weeks from preliminary planning to execution. When curating the character's beach wardrobe, the core objective was translating her distinct personality into a relaxed seaside context. Trimming and heat-styling the wig demanded intensive labor—especially dialing in the curves of her low twin tails to ensure they wouldn't frizzle under gusty airflow. The glasses featured transparent frames; initially, I feared reflections would ruin takes, but finding the right angle allowed the lenses to inject an endearing, playful touch instead. The lettering across the orange bucket hat was heat-transferred by hand, with edges carefully smoothed so no craft seams appeared in close-up portraits.

For the wardrobe, I chose a semi-sheer white cover-up blouse layered over a vivid orange bikini. This layered combination offered superb dimensional hierarchy under high-intensity illumination without feeling overly revealing, seamlessly matching the beach theme. Below, matching orange boy-shorts mirrored the bikini tone, crafted from quick-dry textile that easily brushed off clinging sand. The yellow blossom necklace at the collar and colorful beaded bangles along the wrists provided vital chromatic accents, custom-sourced to enrich her visual palette. Supporting the shoot, a translucent blue inflatable swim ring and a multicolored squirt gun served as tactile props, creating natural interactive anchors while filling negative space within the compositional frame.

The set was an indoor artificial sand beach installation. While framed against an artificial ocean, the arrangement of azure timber wallboards, surfboards, lifebuoys, and genuine fine sand delivered a convincing resort atmosphere. In terms of lighting, dual color-temperature fixtures were deployed: the key strobe equipped with a softbox illuminated facial textures and sheer fabric translucency, while rim backlighting chiseled bodily contours for crisp three-dimensional depth. Posing explored varied postures: reclining laterally along the sand emphasized elongated leg lines; sitting on the beach lounger with knees hugged while toying with the water gun cultivated a relaxed slice-of-life charm; and kneeling while cradling the swim ring spotlighted expressive ocular details and the upper torso.

While shooting the swim-ring sequence, testing varied angles revealed that shifting my weight slightly to one side while raising a hand to nudge the spectacle frames naturally flattered the cheek profile and body curves. The photographer advised canting the water gun at a shallow angle to avoid obscuring graphic prints across the cover-up. On the low beach lounger, sitting upright required continuous abdominal engagement to keep my posture poised without slouching. The entire shoot was an ongoing dialogue: our hairstylist continually smoothed stray flyaways, sunscreen mist was reapplied between sets, and dedicated fill lights balanced skin tones across the limbs. The final chiaroscuro across the sheer fabric made every bit of groundwork deeply gratifying.
