[Fu Xuan Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail — Xianxia Charm Among Bamboo Groves and Ancient Architecture

I was organizing my photo albums today and came across this set of photos, so I decided to share them. I've heard some people mention that this character is somewhat niche, but I personally really like this kind of aloof, strategist archetype.

Preparing for this shoot mainly came down to a few key details. First was the styling—the pink wig went through multiple color adjustments to achieve a high-end texture with a slight grayish hue and natural fluffiness. Combined with the headpiece intertwined with metal and tassels on top of my head, just fixing these accessories in place took nearly half an hour. The outfit design is full of clever touches: ruffles at the neckline, off-shoulder and waist-revealing cuts, plus white chiffon and a blue-purple gradient hem, creating a rich sense of layering. There are also subtle astrological line patterns on the clothes. The red round fan and the purple starry-sky crystal ball with white pointers in my hands served as mysterious little props for the whole look.

On the day of the shoot, we chose a traditional Chinese garden for the outdoor location. Green bluestone paths, stone bridge railings, dense bamboo groves, with black-tiled and white-walled ancient buildings in the background—this environment perfectly matches the character's persona of seeing through all things. The diffused light on an overcast day was very friendly for shooting; the light was extremely soft, leaving no harsh shadows on the face. We specifically found a few camera angles with depth, using the stone railing in the foreground as a blurred frame to capture the feeling of walking along the path. I personally really love the harmony between person and scenery shown in Photo 3.

Let's talk about the mood during the shoot. I specifically selected light amber contact lenses, combined with subtle eyeshadow and lipstick, to emphasize clarity in my eyes. When holding props, the photographer guided me on how to adjust finger placement and shoulder height. This was actually crucial—it showcased the shoulder design of the outfit while keeping the upper body upright and ethereal. Although the costume didn't look heavy, the headpiece was quite weighty, so I had to stay mindful of my center of gravity throughout the shoot to avoid slouching.

Honestly, when engaging in roleplay through cosplay, it's often about loving the core of the character. She is calm, wise, low-key yet reliable. During the photoshoot, I consciously strived to embody this feel, working to let the still photos convey a bit of the character's true spirit. In post-processing, we didn't use heavy filters; we mainly unified the color tones, subtly emphasizing the purples and pinks of the costume so they would pop against the lush green of the bamboo grove and maintain visual appeal. I was quite satisfied with the final results. Whether medium close-ups or wide environmental portraits in our anime-style photography, they all captured the sense of fantasy I aimed for. Outdoor shooting is certainly tiring, but seeing the final photos made it feel completely worth it.
