This Wuthering Waves Cartethyia Cosplay photoshoot went very smoothly overall; from receiving the costume to final delivery, the whole process was an absolute joy. As the Coser in front of the camera, the visual design of this outfit is truly unique. To recreate the ethereal detachment of a fantasy saintess, I put extensive effort into my makeup. For the base makeup, I chose an ultra-matte finish paired with light purple contacts. Rather than using overly heavy colors for the eye makeup, I highlighted the inner corners with delicate fine shimmer, pairing it with false eyelashes to shape a cool yet slightly compassionate gaze. The wig featured a pale blonde base with blue gradient highlights at the ends; I deliberately elevated the roots and shaped the locks to fit my head shape while creating an airy, windswept movement. The unicorn horn ornament, blue branch headpiece, and pointed elf ears atop my head were all carefully selected and securely pinned to ensure they wouldn't shift during dynamic poses. The black lace choker with cross accents around my neck added a touch of gothic mystery to the overall look.
The costume features an asymmetrical spliced design in black, white, and blue. The hem of the black mini skirt is dotted with white star motifs, while the most striking element is that exceptionally wide, cape-like blue overskirt train. When shooting the dynamic pose in the second photo, to achieve a fluid, billowing effect with the skirt, I repeatedly practiced jumping and swinging motions in the studio. The golden chain patterns on the skirt gleamed brilliantly under the lights, and paired with the blue star stiletto sandals and gold anklet, they maximized the visual lines of my legs. Overall, this outfit isn't a conventional tight-fitting or revealing look, but through the high-slit skirt and high-tension body poses, it communicates a fantasy aesthetic balancing elegance with allure. This contrast between skin exposure and the weight of the garments truly tests a Coser's control over their bodily lines.
These three photos were completed in collaboration with professional Cosplay photography masters during the Suzhou ACG Exhibition. The studio lighting was meticulously arranged: the key light illuminated my face to sculpt facial contours, while golden bokeh spots against the black background not only filled the negative space, but also created an ambiance of swirling magic under a starry night. The first photo was an interactive collaboration with another Coser; the dual composition carries strong narrative depth, with one sitting and one standing creating spatial depth, and the hand interaction hinting at the characters' relationship. The crouching pose in the third photo was quite challenging: to keep the large blue cape unfurled without looking clunky, I had to tighten my core while crouching, extending one leg and pointing my instep to elongate visual proportions.
To summarize this shoot in one sentence: living up to the name of the Saintess. This isn't just a slogan, but a sense of responsibility toward character portrayal. From makeup preparation to on-set posing design, I wanted every step to stay as faithful as possible to that sacred, inviolable image in this fantasy world.
