Cosplaying Rosmontis at Guangzhou CICF took about a month to refine, from initial pattern-making to the final photoshoot at the venue. The core of this styling was balancing the softness of white lace with the sharp, edgy feel of the black bustier. The massive beast ears and the silver-white cutout branches on the side were the most time-consuming parts to craft. To ensure they wouldn't collapse during a full day at the expo, I built a sturdy internal skeleton support and secured the wig and hair ornaments firmly to my head with plenty of bobby pins. For makeup, to capture her slightly weary yet dangerous aura, I deliberately chose green contact lenses and blended reddish eyeshadow extensively around the eye area. Combined with porcelain-fair foundation, the final look was deeply satisfying.

For props, alongside a bouquet of white roses tied with white ribbons, I prepared a prop cleaver splattered with fake blood. This prop cleaver was a huge hit at the convention—many photographers asked me to hold the flowers in one hand and raise the blade in the other. Photo 7 captures that exact moment, delivering tremendous visual tension. The weather in Guangzhou was still sweltering during those days, making the layered lace long sleeves quite warm and stuffy, but the moment I stepped in front of the camera and heard the shutter click, I instantly locked into character. To match her persona, I actually prepared two outfit coordinates: one dress featuring a massive plush tail and off-the-shoulder lace, and the other being the sailor suit ensemble in Photos 3 and 8. For the sailor look, I specifically paired it with white over-the-knee stockings featuring cat paw prints. Shooting outdoors at dusk yielded dim lighting, but combined with the Polaroid's distinctive color tint, it produced a wonderfully hazy, moody atmosphere.

Throughout the convention, I walked around the venue carrying both a Polaroid camera and a DSLR. The thick stack of photo prints in my hand in Photo 6 was filled with commemorative Polaroids taken with photographer friends and fellow fans. So many people came by to take photos, so to keep shooting efficient, I actively guided everyone in adjusting camera angles—for example, Polaroids worked best for half-body close-ups, while digital DSLRs were ideal for recording fabric textures and fine details. Photo 9 documents the scene of several photographers circling to shoot. During breaks at the cafe shown in Photo 8, I used a portable mini photo printer to print out phone preview shots for review, checking where I could refine my poses and styling even further. Overall, this convention trip was incredibly fulfilling, and seeing Rosmontis's look come alive under the expo lights made all the hard work across these past weeks truly worthwhile.
