This time, under the theme of 'Under the Blossoms and Moon,' I challenged the Spirit Blossom version of Ahri from League of Legends. From the initial makeup to the final photos, it actually went through many rounds of repeated adjustments.

Ahri's half-awake, half-dreaming state from the original concept art—drifting between reality and the spiritual realm—requires a wealth of light, shadow, and details to support it when materialized. First is the material selection for this costume. The white off-the-shoulder design on the upper body is not only the visual center but also places high demands on the skin tone presentation. To fit the vibe of Spirit Blossom, which carries the flavor of classical mythology, I spent quite a bit of time managing the wig. The pink hair strands needed to be combed section by section to create a fluffy, layered texture. The animal ears on top of the head are not just hair accessories; they also had to be crafted with a three-dimensional and slightly fuzzy texture. What I struggled with the most was that big blue-green gradient tail behind me. If it's too thick with fur, it easily looks bulky; if it's too light, it lacks that agile, fluffy visual effect of the Spirit Blossom skin. The prop maker revised the sample mold over and over again before finally assembling the fluffy yet natural form shown in the pictures.

The location chosen for the shoot day was just perfect. Originally just a traditional wooden wishing rack, when paired with the early spring blooming pink cherry blossom backdrop, it instantly filled the character's sense of story to the brim. Those wishing plaques hanging on the rack and the hand-woven red strings all added emotional depth to the frame. When discussing camera angles with the photographer, we deliberately avoided cluttered backgrounds of passersby, focusing the frame on the interaction between the character and the scene. In the photo, I am looking down slightly at the wooden plaque in my hand. This movement design was intended to recreate Ahri's gentle, composed, and slightly mysterious state within the Spirit Blossom lore.

During the shoot, light was the absolute key to determining the texture of the final photos. The on-site use of natural diffused light not only made the texture of the white clothing look translucent but also caused the pink hair to display gradients of varying depths under the light. To preserve the atmosphere of individual photos, we didn't use an overly complex lighting array but instead relied on multi-angle reflectors to fill the facial light and the hair layers. In the first photo, the composition falls just right between the character's upper body and the wishing rack. The off-the-shoulder cut, combined with a slightly tilted body, not only creates more visual tension but also expresses the character's languid and charming temperament.

In fact, the most enjoyable part of cosplay is often not the moment the final image comes out, but rather the long early preparation stage—from researching the character to scouting locations, and continuously adapting with the props and photographer during this Cosplay photography process. To catch this sense of tranquility 'under the blossoms and moon,' everyone had to rush to the site at five or six in the morning for this Anime-style outdoor photoshoot, borrowing the best natural light of the day to capture inspiration. Although squatting and standing up many times under the wooden rack with the heavy tail was exhausting and left me drenched in sweat, seeing the ideal Ahri brought to life on the screen made all the previous hardships fade away.

I hope the condensation of this hard work allows everyone to feel the inner beauty of the Spirit Blossom theme. The makeup, wig, and tails all strive to faithfully replicate the classic design. I believe that an attitude of taking every set of photos seriously is the best way to be responsible to the character.
