[Dialyn Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's functional-style stage costume is truly a test of physical strength

This set of Dialyn stage costume official photos from Zenless Zone Zero was an extreme test of physical strength from the fitting to the completion of the shoot. The layering of this outfit is extremely rich, and the details of the physical item were even more numerous than expected. First, regarding the head styling, the black-and-white color-blocked Twintails consumed a whole can of hair wax and a large amount of setting spray to achieve a fluffy yet lively arc. The red pom-poms and metal rings on the buns were extremely easy to drop during movement, so many invisible hairpins were used for fixation. That pair of bluish-green teardrop-shaped earrings possessed a certain transparency under the light, forming a color echo with the bluish-green question-mark work badge on the chest.

The overall structure of the costume is very complex. The high-necked black collar is adorned with red Chinese frog buttons, the yellow tie is printed with patterns, and the outer layer features white bubble sleeves while the inner layer is spliced with black striped fabric and fringes. To make large-scale movements during the shoot, the top and black shorts underwent certain adjustments in tailoring, and the gold lines on the sides and the white plush balls at the waist were all restored according to the original design. The black straps and decorative white balls on the thighs needed constant position adjustment to prevent them from sliding down during kicks or squats. The translucent White stockings worn on the legs fit very well, and the gold patterns at the thighs not only increased the visual layering but also elongated the overall proportions. The shoes are thick-soled black-and-gold matching colors featuring belt buckles and bluish-green accents; although they provide a height-increasing effect, the ankles had to bear heavy pressure when performing jumping and single-leg standing actions.

The most heavyweight prop used in this shoot was that huge glowing ring. The inner light strip has a certain weight, and to capture that dynamic lighting effect in the frame, we repeatedly adjusted the lighting angles indoors. Low-angle upward shots heavily tested core strength, especially that single-leg high-lift action, which not only required maintaining balance but also controlling the angle of pointing toes while keeping good expression management. The crouching lunge posture of swinging the ring required core tightening to keep the posture from collapsing. The most tiring part was sitting on the ground to pose; the hard ground caused a lot of pain to knees and ankles, but in order to showcase Dialyn's playful yet slightly cool personality, these efforts were entirely necessary.

With the cooperation of photography and post-processing, the arcs of flying hair strands, the wrinkles of the skirt hem, and the lighting effects of the ring in the finished photos all met expectations. This costume imposes considerable restriction on movements, especially the sleeve cuffs and arm straps, requiring caution during every prop swing so as not to tear or deform the clothing. From the perspective of character shaping, Dialyn not only has a lively side but also carries a certain sense of strength in her actions, so I deliberately incorporated more details of limb extension and knee-bending exertion when designing the actions. This shoot accumulated a lot of experience in large-scale dynamics and gave me new insights into handling functional-style clothing, hoping future creations will go even more smoothly.
