[Alice Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Alice really baked like a steamed bun today

Shooting this Zenless Zone Zero Alice Cosplay look today was a process filled with anticipation and accompanied by quite a physical test. In particular, the indoor temperature on site was on the warmer side; combined with wearing various wigs and accessories, the sweltering sensation hit straight to the top of my head the moment I stepped onto the venue, making me joke that I truly turned into a freshly steamed bun.

The costume actually has numerous details. In pursuit of character accuracy, the white shirt was specifically tailored to my figure and the reference sheets, especially the curve of the lantern sleeves, which couldn't be too exaggerated and look bulky, nor too flat and lose 3D structure. The cuffs had to snugly tuck in the black fingerless gloves, so when posing—whether touching fingers to cheeks or standing with arms hanging down—the visual focus stays on hand details. The black bowtie at the collar and the inner red cord loop with a metal badge accessory are visual highlights of the entire outfit; the solid texture of the red cord, combined with silver-gray hardware, gives the upper body distinct layering without looking monotonous.

To handle the indoor lighting, I specially adjusted the makeup focus during shooting. Because of the hot weather, the base makeup needed to be applied more solidly, with multiple layers of setting spray for fear that sweat would ruin the makeup. Root support was crucial: to prevent the wig from sticking flat against the scalp under high temperatures, dedicated support mesh frames were used inside the top of the wig. Although that white sphere hair ornament looks lightweight, it is actually pinned to the end of the braid on one side; added to the large fluffy beast ears on top of the head, the overall weight on the head was not light, requiring occasional adjustments to the neck angle to avoid looking hunched or timid in photos.

Moving on to the lower body's Black tights outfit, the dark pleated skirt paired with black stockings is actually a step that severely tests sitting postures. Those shots sitting on the steps were truly relaxing, as I had indeed been shooting in the sweltering heat for a long time and wanted to find a place to rest my feet. At that moment, I casually propped my hands on both sides and naturally bent my legs; the refraction effect of the black stockings under indoor overhead light was very satisfying, not overly bright or oily, and the translucent matte texture formed distinct color layers with the pleated skirt. Initially, I was worried that if the angle wasn't right, this sitting pose would make my legs look thick or risk exposure, but looking at feedback from the photographer, the lighting technician controlled the distance and fill-light angle wonderfully, making the black stockings and skirt ruffles present natural streamlined curves.

In Photo 2, lying on that white-and-green inflatable prop, there was a close-up camera angle from the photographer right beside me, backed by various anime convention vendor boards, with everyone capturing moments very professionally. Even when feeling very lazy or a bit drained, seeing the lens required snapping into expressions and positioning hands swiftly; this state-switching is a challenging yet fun part of Anime cosplay shoots. Navigating among complex convention props and booths while being careful not to step on skirt hems or bump into surrounding sets also requires some bodily coordination.

In fact, every time I do a look with heavy metal hardware, leather straps, and tightly wrapped clothing, it's a battle against the heat. But seeing the finished photos clearly display the fabric texture, leather sheen, and that playful yet uniquely imposing vibe makes all the tedious prep work feel worth it. In Photo 4, the yellow-and-white swim ring beside me and the giant white bird mascot prop with a bow also added lively contrasting colors to the solid-color steps, preventing the frame from looking too monotonous.

Overall, this experience felt very authentic and rich. The exhaustion brought by the high temperatures intertwined with the fulfillment of completing an exquisite look gave me a deeper emotional connection to this Zenless Zone Zero Alice Cosplay, serving as a wonderful record of Casual cosplay photoshoot life.
