For this Goddess of Victory: Nikke Cinderella Crystal Princess cosplay set, a lot of thought went into it right from the makeup test. The outfit features a custom-made ice-blue tulle skirt, and the lace on the chest and the corset structure at the waist faithfully recreate the original design. I must specifically mention the hemline, which layers multiple sheets of sheer tulle intertwined with finely crushed glittery materials, giving it the refractive texture of a Crystal dress under the camera flash. Fully geared up during the shoot, most of the poses were done barefoot. Stepping on the blanket was actually incredibly soft, and placing the transparent high heels next to me added a narrative touch to the frame.
The photographer was Teacher Niuniu, using a Fuji X-S10 paired with a 27/1.2 prime lens. This setup performs exceptionally well for indoor high-key portraits, especially with its soft skin tone transitions. During the shoot, the photographer utilized a large amount of diffused light, which, combined with a set decorated with a white folding screen and white plants, maintained a pristine and translucent atmosphere. To prevent overexposure, we constantly adjusted the lighting and reflector positions. Because we needed to highlight the subject's three-dimensional presence against an all-white background, a slight cyan-blue shift was applied to the color grading in post-production to match the winter crystal theme.
For hair and makeup, I wore a silver-blue wig topped with a crystal crown and a bow, paired with blue colored contacts and bright red lipstick. The blue eyes and red lips pop out vividly against the cool-toned background, making it highly recognizable visually. Throughout the shoot, I tried several different poses, such as sitting sideways, crossing my legs, and crossing my arms. The first photo features a very classic sideways seated pose with perfect eye contact and composition, so I chose it as the cover.
The entire set was built by Niuniu and me. The vintage picture frames in the corner, the wrought-iron bench, and the blanket on the floor all perfectly supported the storytelling environment. The shoot demanded a lot in terms of eye expressions; since the character naturally exudes a cold yet slightly melancholic vibe, I had to continuously adjust my emotions while posing. Moreover, to perfectly capture the slender lines of the chest and legs, we spent a long time fine-tuning the positions of my thighs and calves. Although the process was a bit tiring, I am quite satisfied with the overall atmosphere of the final Dreamy photoshoot. This set of photos didn't undergo overly exaggerated retouching, preserving its authentic texture. For me, being able to recreate the noble and translucent feeling this character brings is a deeply rewarding experience in cosplay.
