[Lappland the Decadenza cosplay] Madness and Desolation in Arknights

Shooting Lappland the Decadenza cosplay from Arknights was an incredibly interesting experience throughout. Because the character's design leans towards cold ruthlessness and madness, the pre-shoot preparation was primarily focused on getting the makeup and overall atmosphere just right. The long white hair and beast ears, combined with the red eye makeup on the face, were crucial to shaping the character.

Putting on the outfit took quite a bit of effort—a red-and-black cropped jacket with intricate patterns printed on the sleeves, gold chains hanging at the waist, paired with Black stockings cosplay elements like black stockings and thigh straps on the legs, plus that massive white tail behind me. Although the outfit wasn't very breathable, none of these details could be omitted to faithfully recreate the character's texture. The set was decorated with hanging iron chains, withered branches, and dark red fabric; combined with the red ambient lighting, that oppressive tension emerged immediately.

Speaking of the shoot, the photographer paid great attention to the interplay of light and shadow. Red lighting served as the main keynote, accentuating the contrast between the hair and skin wonderfully. The first snapshot capturing the red cape fluttering in motion felt dynamic, resembling a turn amidst battlefield wreckage; the third photo, leaning back against the rock, enhanced interactivity through the iron chains and candlesticks, carrying a rather melancholic mood. But my personal favorite is the second photo, where I felt in top form. The sitting pose was relatively relaxed, looking straight into the camera, showcasing the leg lines most distinctly. The combination of black stockings and thigh straps was extremely eye-catching in the frame, and the gaze captured that cold, contemptuous demeanor of the character just right.

Personally, when shooting such Dark style characters, careful attention must be paid to blending the eye makeup—the red shouldn't be painted flat, but should carry a smoky, diffused feel. Furthermore, regarding poses, don't always stand upright; in sets with chairs and rocks, leaning back, turning sideways, or tugging on iron chains will give the frame far more tension and storytelling depth. This experience was fantastic—the red and black color scheme really makes for stunning photos.
