The location for this shoot was the Changsha Anime Convention. Although the hall was busy with people coming and going, making the background slightly cluttered, the charm of convention photos lies precisely in this authentic environmental feel. Model mosa's hair and makeup were very meticulous—the orange-brown wig and custom green contact lenses instantly set the character's sharp and calm temperament the moment they were put on.

Talking about the shooting of this set, we mainly wanted to capture the character's slightly mysterious and guarded state. A few wide-angle compositions reaching towards the camera created a strong visual impact, where the blurred foreground paired with a sharp face in the back made it feel as if the character were bursting right through the screen. Meanwhile, the full-body shot standing with hands in pockets and looking straight ahead is what I personally consider the best moment for a cover photo. The red, white, and black color combination under the brown trench coat looked exceptionally sleek, and combined with black jogger pants and thick-soled shoes, it recreated that sharp yet casually effortless everyday feel.

Additionally, two shots using an ID card to block half of the face were meant to recreate the sense of distance associated with having special abilities in Charlotte. Understanding of the character is largely reflected in these small details—for instance, the white lanyard tag is not only a lore prop but also serves as a great visual balancing point. The trench coat zipper, the brightness of the inner T-shirt, and the light blue cuff lining were all accurately recreated, looking neither overly exaggerated nor losing the iconic 2D anime character traits.

The lighting at the Changsha Anime Convention was actually quite a big challenge; dense cold light sources lined up high in the exhibition hall could easily make lighting look flat. Fortunately, through depth-of-field control in cosplay photography, the photographer blurred out the softboxes, booths, and miscellaneous clutter behind while preserving the industrial lines unique to the venue's ceiling, effectively highlighting the subject.

When shooting characters like this, expression control is crucial; there's no need for dramatic emotional swings—focused gaze and restrained movements alone communicate the character's mental state. This set of photos aims more to freeze a certain atmospheric feeling rather than create a high-action cinematic blockbuster, leaning instead toward capturing that familiar glance passing through the convention crowd.

Every time I cosplay a character with a long coat, there are trade-offs. Although the trench coat hem slightly restricts the range of motion, that is precisely where the character's style identity lies. Pairing black pants with black shoes concentrates visual focus on the color-blocking of red, brown, and blue on the upper body, making the key highlight instantly memorable to passersby. The meaning of anime conventions often lies in this face-to-face expression—it's not just about taking photos, but also sharing resonance with fellow fans.

In the bustling exhibition hall, communicating footwork with the photographer, dodging cluttered backgrounds, and trying various poses of outstretched arms or head tilted to cover the face made the entire process incredibly fulfilling.
