Preparing and executing this Arknights Dusk Jasper Inkstone cosplay look took considerable effort to figure out from start to finish.

For the Jasper Inkstone form, the core lies in a cool, serene vibe combined with a watery translucency. The blue-green highlights on the wig and top bun turned out quite satisfying, but what took even more thought was the translucent blue dragon horns. To give them a texture resembling freshly frozen crystal or water ripples under light, the resin transparency was repeatedly adjusted, which, combined with studio spotlights, yielded ideal photo results with high color restoration accuracy.

The makeup complemented the character's reserved nature. Heavy eyeshadows were avoided in favor of a light base makeup, emphasizing the red smudge around the eyes and lip color contrast, which, highlighted by contact lenses, gave the gaze better focus. The pointed, long exotic ears and black choker at the neck were key to elevating the overall soul; paired together, they visually elongated the neck line without letting the white off-shoulder design feel overly plain. Ear accessories featured subtle bead drops that echoed the pearl strand on the wrist, enhancing the refined feel of the styling.

The outfit design is clever—the off-shoulder cut nicely highlights a woman's collarbone line, while white gauze and gradient blue-green skirt layers offer rich depth. When sitting on a Chinese wooden chair or doing hand close-ups, light hitting layered fabrics at different angles creates wonderful light-and-shadow variations. The purple gloves with white pearl strands in hand, along with small props and picture scrolls on the floor beside, brought out that Jasper Inkstone atmosphere steeped in cultural elegance and calligraphic artistic mood in this Chinese style styling.

Studio setup on shooting day was also crucial; rather than using overly complex real sets, we used a light blue background cloth paired with large areas of faux lotus leaves, pinkish-white lotus flowers, a carved wooden chair, and a large vase on the table. Combining these elements created a waterside courtyard atmosphere fitting her character setting. Especially those close-ups looking sideways into the lens perfectly matched the title's feeling of "just looking at you like this," conveying a calm yet slightly distant gaze as desired.

In fact, whenever doing cosplays rich in visual elements, overcoming tedious accessories and wearing instability is paramount. Especially with off-shoulder garments, a slight lapse can cause slippage, requiring constant attention to posture and shoulder movements during shooting. Fortunately, everyone cooperated well on the final renders, and the photographer controlled light positions softly, preventing cool-toned clothes from looking grey or dirty while preserving natural sheen.

Although this outfit isn't a heavy armor or mecha type with strong special effects, light ancient-style outfits reliant on temperament and details test one's understanding of the original character's core even more. I didn't forcibly imitate in-game poses, but expressed a state based on my own interpretation before the camera—serene, focused, with a restrained sense of power. That is the fascinating part of roleplay in Arknights: not merely duplicating appearances, but reinterpreting the character's inner temperament through Cosplay photography.
