Here is the studio shoot record for this Nahida Elf bride styling. At that time, the photographer and I decided to use a natural forest as the base tone, creating a visual fusion between Nahida's own Dendro element and the concept of a bride, so we put a lot of effort into the preparation.
In the costume section, we chose a green ruffled top with a fluffy feel, paired with light green tulle on the shoulders. This tulle material presents an excellent sense of translucency under the studio lighting. Combined with the white lace skirt edges, it adds some bridal elegance while maintaining a playful feel. The costume comes with its own green pendant embroidered with grass leaf patterns, which becomes a visual center of the overall look. Besides, to fit the setting of an elf, I wore long pointed ears, and the hair was that silver twin tails with a hint of light green, working with the woven green leaf crown on the head to beautifully echo Nahida's character traits visually.
A rather distinctive feature of the styling would be the vine-wrapping design on the legs. Before the shoot started, we spent quite a lot of time carefully fixing the simulated vines onto the legs and insteps. To make the direction of the vines fit the muscle contours, we tried different wrapping methods. Meanwhile, choosing to go barefoot to present the look was also out of consideration for this unconstrained sense of connection between the character and natural elements. The wig went through multiple adjustments to ensure that the flow of the hair strands and the position of the bangs could fully restore the character's lively intelligence.
This collaboration was shot at Kasumi Studio. The indoor set design fits the shooting theme perfectly this time. The ground was cushioned with a thick layer of simulated moss, paired with white Roman columns, lush green leafy plants, and a few scattered small white flowers. Together with the clean gradient backdrop from yellow-green to bright green behind, it made the color saturation of the entire frame look very comfortable and clean. The photographer did some soft-light processing in the lighting arrangement, making the presentation of both the tulle material and skin tone exceptionally soft.
The shooting process was divided into two main scene movements. One was a standing posture where I raised both hands to gently hold a branch with leaves, striking a light single-leg standing movement. Due to the adjustment of the center of gravity, the tulle of the entire skirt hem presented a naturally scattering state, appearing very full of vitality. The other was sitting on the edge of a stone platform with legs gathered together, cradling a small bouquet of white flowers, and leaning forward slightly. This relatively static pose can highlight the character's gentleness and ethereal quality. The photographer behind micro-adjusted through the viewfinder and lighting, capturing many moments that met expectations.
In the overall post-production color grading, we maintained that fresh feel presented in the raw photos without making too many adjustments, striving to restore that vivid breath belonging to nature and being unconstrained. The color tone of this set of photos, paired with the fresh nature of the character itself, presents an effect that has both a sense of anime fantasy and a relatively real texture. Although the shooting time was tight, the final results are highly capable of delivering that fresh and vibrant trait inherent to the character of Nahida. This completes a truly wonderful piece of Cosplay photography that delivers a distinct feel from typical Anime-style photography parameters.
