This time, I tried Miss Yamada cosplay from "Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You". With red hair tied in a low ponytail, wearing the iconic earrings and black choker, along with a loose white T-shirt and a black leather jacket, it instantly captures that relaxed, unwinding vibe of hiding in a back alley after work. During the shoot, we intentionally restored several classic actions from the original manga, such as smoking, spacing out, and chatting with a partner—like holding a cigarette in one hand while tilting the head to blow out smoke, leaning against the wall while tapping the ground with a toe, and that helpless smile when being teased.
Actually, the most captivating part of this character is that daily vibe of being "too lazy to put on a business face yet still gentle," so the gaze and posture don't need too much effort; relaxing instead fits her better. The venue chosen was a back alley with a rolling shutter door. The afternoon light filtered through the fence to create a boundary of light and shadow, which, combined with a slow shutter speed to capture the rising smoke, brought out the atmosphere instantly.
In addition to using these photos as meme material, I also want to share some small photography tips as a quick Cosplay sharing: don't rush to inhale after lighting the cigarette, press the shutter when the smoke drifts naturally to make the silhouette softer; your gaze can be slightly lowered or directed slightly to the left of the lens to avoid staring blankly at the camera, which looks forced. The range of motion doesn't need to be large—leaning against a corner or putting a hand in your pocket already tells a great story. I hope these movements and compositions can provide some pose reference for friends who enjoy Anime-style photography, so we can capture interesting fragments of life together.
