[Marcille cosplay] Delicious in Dungeon Foraging Look: Convention photos Sharing

This set of convention photos was taken at the Firefly ACG Expo, themed around Marcille foraging for food. Since I was portraying a character from Delicious in Dungeon, I chose a fabric palette alternating between deep blue and light blue. The fabric is a cotton-linen blend with decent breathability; although the hall got warm and the long skirt felt somewhat stuffy, the silhouette faithfully recreated the character's look. The red ribbon at the neckline and the yellow trim on the capelet were hand-sewn, which I think nailed the finer details.

For the Elf ears, I bought a new silicone model that fit much better than previous pairs, staying securely in place while walking around all day. The long staff was a handmade prop crafted from a 1.5-meter light wood pole, hand-carved with entwined branch textures, and weathered with paints. The green leaves at the top were added specifically to match the foraging concept. The staff's weight was evenly distributed, so holding it one-handed for anti-gravity poses wasn't overly taxing.

The gray pouch at my waist was a standout piece of this styling, made from structured faux leather with an internal metal clasp that looked textured, albeit rather heavy. The long skirt hem meant watching my step to avoid tripping, and I wore brown sandals that made walking on pavement effortless.

The shots were taken with front lighting along the roadside, capturing candid moments of walking and glancing back. The surroundings were noisy and full of passersby, requiring constant awareness of pedestrian traffic. The blue hair combined with the long ears gave the characterization a strong sense of immersion.

The foraging expression was actually quite easy to tap into—feeling hungry during the convention afternoon and scouting for a bite naturally gave off that exact vibe. After the shoot, the weight of the waist pouch left me needing a good rest. Balancing gear weight with comfort to capture the foraging nuances paid off, and I am quite happy with the final outcome.

Beyond the roadside setup, the only regret was not capturing more angles due to the dense crowd. Extensive effort went into the prop paintwork and outfit color scheme, keeping the final look close to the source material. The yellow trim and red ribbons set against the greenery created rich color layers that put angle selection to the test. If I organize the maintenance tips and prop-crafting notes later, I will happily share them.

The dark blue dress features a V-neck design, where the lines of the drooping shoulder capelet visually elongate the neck. Since the dress itself lacks pockets, the gray pouch was practical enough to hold my phone. Tied with red cords, the twintails swung with movement, nicely highlighting the character's lively personality. The green contacts paired with emerald leaves gave viewers a vibrant, forest-integrated feel. With trees, streets, and passersby in the background, the candid nature felt delightfully down-to-earth.

On-site at Firefly ACG Expo, to capture the vibe of scouting for food, I wandered around nearby booths first until finding a well-lit spot to settle. To freeze that hurried yet adorable dynamic, I had the photographer shoot with a wide aperture. Underneath the blue costume, an inner layer made changing easier. To keep the wig fluffy and natural, a generous amount of hairspray was used. Mindful of the long skirt causing a trip hazard, my walking pace naturally slowed down, which serendipitously matched the wide-eyed, wandering look of foraging. Despite noise from surrounding booths, communication with the photographer stayed clear. This photo set didn't rely heavily on post-processing, leaning primarily on the camera's natural performance and lighting. Overall, while the shoot was exhausting, the level of completion was solid, serving as a fond record of the day's experience.
