[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane Ice Princess Dreamy Studio Shoot Records

For Cheshire's Ice Princess skin from Azur Lane, I finally completed this themed studio shoot right before the Firefly ACG Expo.

This shoot aimed primarily to capture the character's cool yet subtly playful ice-and-snow aesthetic. The fabric selection required immense care: the main body generously utilized high-translucency iridescent fabric and white lace, which shimmered with ice-blue and mint-green hues under the studio softboxes. Together with the dark blue guipure lace bell sleeves and starry glitter on the skirt hem, rich visual layering was established immediately.

For headwear, a white flat-topped straw hat paired with multi-tonal blue bows and small purple feathers framed the hairstyle's silhouette beautifully. For hair and makeup, the foundation was a silver-gray short bob with blunt bangs; the crowning touch was the lake-blue highlight on the sidelocks. Paired with matching ice-blue contact lenses, this not only gave my gaze an agile sparkle, but also resonated flawlessly with the blue tones of the dress. Soft pink blush and eyeshadow prevented the look from feeling overly distant or icy, introducing approachable warmth instead. The triangular silver chain across the chest provided an elegant accent to the neckline. The studio set featured European fairytale aesthetics: white Roman pillars and ornate wrought-iron chairs paired with clustered blue-and-white faux florals created a pristine, cohesive visual space.

The photographer's framing was fantastic: several full-body shots elongated leg lines, which, paired with clear stiletto sandals, showed off body proportions gracefully. Personally, I adore the half-body close-ups, as they allowed focused expression of subtle character emotions through hand gestures—such as touching my cheek with fingertips, sticking out my tongue playfully, or making heart signs—infusing static photos with narrative life.

Special mention goes to the lighting equipment from SYNCO, which delivered precise soft diffusion and color temperature control to keep my skin looking crisp and translucent while flawlessly capturing the iridescent sheen of the fabric. Another charming touch was the small acrylic standees from Zhuoying Studio and Visual Wonder placed around the set, which served as coordinates in this dreamlike realm, adding compositional fun.

The shoot was physically demanding; balancing the intricate costume layers with high heels required frequent resets of posture and breath. Yet the photography team remained patient, offering real-time direction for poses and expressions to maintain a comfortable pace. Rather than merely striking poses, I wanted to present a vibrant Cheshire true to her original design. Seeing the interplay of snow, ice, light, and shadow in the final frames made all the preparation worthwhile.
