These hall photos of my Maid Mash outfit from the Ryoga anime convention are finally here! Since the full set is still being edited, I'm releasing this preview taken during the Ryoga Summer Festival first.
Let's start with the outfit details everyone cares about most. For this Maid Mash costume, the bodice and main skirt are crafted from black patent leather, a material that delivers intense reflective highlights under lights, beautifully accentuating body contours during the shoot. The underside of the skirt features purple ruffled patchwork; when walking or turning, layers of purple emerge, creating a striking contrast against the classic black-and-white theme. The wig was trimmed into a neck-length pink bob, with the curves of the bangs and sidelocks adjusted multiple times to stay faithful to the original design. The round metal-rimmed glasses serve as the perfect finishing touch—once put on, that gentle yet composed, signature kouhai charm immediately comes alive.
In terms of styling, semi-sheer black over-the-knee Stockings were paired with black garter straps, set off by glossy black stiletto heels with red soles. Because the short skirt has a petticoat, low-angle shots effectively elongated the leg lines. Long black opera gloves not only flattered the arm lines but also added visual drama to the poses. To achieve the ideal look, I practiced a pose looking back over my shoulder: right arm bent and raised near the head, standing with feet apart and weight shifted to one side, which visually maximized leg proportions. Keeping the core tight and shoulders relaxed was crucial to make the posture look upright yet natural.
We picked an indoor hallway at the convention for this session. The gray square tiled floor and metallic wall backdrop matched this dark-toned maid aesthetic seamlessly. The overall environment leaned cool and dark; the photographer added fill light from the front-right to make my skin and pink hair pop against the backdrop while casting sharp shadows onto the floor for added three-dimensional depth. Walking and adjusting angles around the venue in sky-high heels was certainly a test of stamina, but seeing the patent leather sheen and silky texture of the Stockings in the camera display made every step worthwhile.
The Ryoga anime convention venue was quite spacious and the crowds were well-dispersed, making it ideal for finding quiet, column-free corridors. The poses were primarily designed to highlight body curves and reflective garment details—the sheer Stockings, the red-soled heels, and the gleam of the patent leather top were all captured cleanly from low angles. Although these are only convention hall photos, we carefully avoided background crowds to keep compositions clean. Editing for the main photo set is underway, focusing on finer lighting and color adjustments along with atmospheric special effects.
My focus next will be on retouching the full set to present the finished work as soon as possible. Once ready, more angles and intricate details will be shared. Hope everyone enjoys this styling!
