Finally sorted out these photos of my custom Proto-Merlin look from the Chimelong Water Fashion Season! As an exceptionally stylish character concept in Fate/Grand Order, an original interpretation offers immense creative freedom. I deliberately chose this white lace and tulle swim dress, paired with twin-tailed white hair, crimson eyes, and a delicate white lace parasol, capturing a vibrant summer set across the beach area of the Chimelong resort.

During the session, to channel that serene aura of Avalon's Magus of Flowers, I experimented with multiple poses on the white lounge chairs. In the fourth photo, sitting angled sideways in the rattan lounger beautifully highlighted the flowing silhouette of the outfit and leg contours, while side backlighting caught the sheer luster of the tulle. Stepping barefoot onto the fine sand complemented the airy styling, bringing out a lively, spirited summer freshness.

Handling an outdoor photoshoot comes with its own hardships—battling sweat and makeup meltdowns in the heat, while constantly guarding the delicate white lace against stray beach sand. Yet seeing the final frames made every effort worthwhile. Unlike crowded indoor conventions, the natural daylight combined with the vibrant architectural backdrop gave these photos lush, rich color saturation.

As an avid cosplayer, costume fidelity is only the first step; capturing the character's inner spirit matters most. I asked the photographer to catch candid moments—strolling with the parasol or daydreaming on the chair—rather than purely holding rigid poses for the lens. This photo set serves as my personal interpretation of the ACGN summer water festival theme.

The texture of this garment truly shone under outdoor light. The pure white created a striking visual contrast against the surrounding greenery, while the vacation resort mood of the Chimelong Water Park matched the waterside theme flawlessly. I spent considerable time adjusting the parasol's tilt to diffuse harsh glare without casting shadows across my facial contours. Meticulous care for such details is precisely what makes cosplay so captivating. Sharing this outdoor photoshoot log is my way of documenting lessons learned, from prop curation to framing refinements. I look forward to exploring more outdoor-centric convention shoots like this in the future.
