[Koyanskaya cosplay] The Vulpine Qipao cosplay Look from Fate/Grand Order

This Fate/Grand Order Koyanskaya cosplay Qipao cosplay look was booked for a shoot months ago, and I finally squeezed in a weekend recently to complete it. In a previous post I mentioned not buying any new clothes since September, mostly because my work schedule was packed to the brim, forcing me into an involuntary cooling-off period.

Yet this costume still had plenty of room for refinement. For hair and makeup, the long pink curls had to be untangled and smoothed layer by layer, with the wig roots teased for volume. Securing the massive pink fox ears and tail firmly, along with glasses and meticulous concealing, took an hour and a half on styling alone. The black qipao features a high-slit design, where the chest cutout echoes the character's alluring flair, but it's notoriously difficult to slip into and cinches very tightly to preserve its silhouette. Underneath, I wore Black stockings cosplay; the high slit imposes strict demands on leg lines, requiring immense care when putting them on to avoid snags, which would ruin the entire shoot.

To complement the classical ambiance, the studio set was chosen with wooden lattice screens and a circular moon gate, paired with floor reflections to create a water-like surface effect. A pinkish-purple light source was specifically rigged in the background, accented by oil-paper umbrellas and artificial flowers in the foreground. Posing standing on one leg was the most exhausting; balancing on high heels while maintaining an arched, elegant body curve took numerous attempts to nail down. The dress wrinkles easily, requiring smoothing every few takes, while being constantly vigilant on-site not to scratch the stockings. Post-processing this photo set was equally demanding: balancing the preservation of the intricate black jacquard patterns on the qipao, retaining natural skin texture, and darkening the background to make the subject pop.

The recent intensity of work has left me mentally and physically exhausted, with zero energy left to even think about shopping for clothes. Taking advantage of this weekend, I poured all my remaining downtime into the studio. Although I crashed into bed the second I got home, seeing the finished photos made all the exhaustion of recent days feel completely worthwhile. In reality, life is a non-stop hustle, but being able to dive into the 2D world and push boundaries like this once in a while is a precious little joy I hold onto.
