[Altria cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: Pure White Knight

This shoot of Altria's white knight casual outfit is actually an older set of photos. While tidying up my hard drive today, I stumbled upon them and decided to re-grade the colors and post them as a record. Back then, to find a fitting location, we traveled out to a suburban spot surrounded by woods and walking trails; the verdant greenery in the background happened to set off the pristine, clean texture of this pure white ensemble perfectly.

Let's first talk about the garment details. A pure white base outlined with sharp black lines creates a strikingly crisp visual impact. The oversized white lapels at the neckline contrast sharply with the black choker around the neck, while the off-the-shoulder cut poses a real test for the neckline and collarbones. To carry this silhouette properly on camera, I did plenty of posture training beforehand and had to stay mindful throughout shooting—keeping my chest up and core engaged to prevent the trapezius muscles from tensing upward. The black piping on the top visually cinches the waist, which, together with the softly flared skirt, makes the overall silhouette look much taller and more slender.

In terms of props, the sword was a genuine heavyweight. The two-handed grip shown in Photo 1 was relatively gentle on the arms, but lifting the sword vertically with a single hand in Photo 2 required substantial arm power while demanding absolute vertical alignment—a major test of core and upper-body stability. My arm ached for quite a while after that take, but for the sake of the visual result, I gritted my teeth and held on while keeping my facial expression relaxed for the lens.

For hair and makeup, to capture the character's aura, the base was kept light and matte, placing the focus squarely on the eyes. Green contact lenses paired with reddish-blended eyeshadow elongated the eyes, making the gaze deep and instantly recognizable. To embody the King of Knights' cool, unyielding resolve, I set aside my usual sweet smile, keeping the corners of my mouth level and lowering my gaze slightly to convey a subtle regal dignity.

Styling the wig was another substantial undertaking. The pale blonde wig had a lovely sheen under the sunlight, but outdoor breezes easily ruffled the bangs; the ahoge on top and the ponytail at the back required repeated setting with hairspray. Moreover, to create a full, voluminous shape, several hair pads and hairpins were tucked inside, which grew quite stuffy over time.

The shooting took place in the late afternoon when the lighting turned soft. The backlighting cast a luminous halo across the hair strands, giving the raw shots a rich atmosphere right out of the camera. Post-processing mainly refined the skin's clarity and slightly muted the background greens to let the subject pop. Although the shoot was filled with heat and the physical weight of props, the moment the finished images emerged, every ounce of effort felt worthwhile. Every cosplay is a personal dialogue with the character—continually refining the details is what allows the best performance to shine through.
