[Skadi Cosplay] Arknights: Listening to the Song of the Distant Ocean and the Way Home

Getting straight to the point, the core of this shoot was to present that sense of distant ocean cool aloofness and tranquility belonging to Skadi.

Regarding the styling, the silver-white hair color wig was the main highlight. To fit the fluffy volume in the design and that natural look—messy yet elegant—the hairstylist spent a lot of time doing layered trimming and teasing. The outfit design has rich layering; the white top combined with the cyan-blue semi-transparent stole reflects light wonderfully in front of the camera, presenting a light, water-ripple texture.

The long staff in hand was actually a huge challenge. Its design is extremely unique, featuring complex geometric brackets and ring structures at the top. It actually carried substantial weight in hand; to maintain the upright posture of holding the staff high with both hands shown in Photo 3, my core muscles had to stay constantly tight. My arms were actually quite sore after finishing that set of movements, but seeing the final photos made everything feel completely worth it.

I also have a lot to say about the set design this time. We chose white semi-sheer drapes as the backdrop, while the floor was paved with mirror materials and a large amount of transparent acrylic crystal fragments. Setting up this scene in advance took quite a bit of effort, but the resulting effect was remarkably translucent, perfectly fitting the cold, dreamlike setting of the deep and distant ocean. In particular, the mirror reflections made the character appear even taller and more sacred.

In terms of expression, I tried closing my eyes to absorb the surrounding ambiance, as well as raising my eyes to stare directly into the camera with determination. The photographer captured my temperament—sitting right between nonchalance and intense focus—exceptionally well. Because there were many acrylic crystals and mirror surfaces in the venue, moving inside a tight circle while wearing long boots required maintaining expansive postures while watching out for slippery feet, making it truly a dual test of physical strength and concentration.

Regarding makeup details, special emphasis was placed on blending red blushes around the eyes. This warmer red paired with silver-white long hair not only makes the gaze look deeper and more spirited, but also neutralizes the sense of distance brought by cool tones across the body. Meanwhile, handling the details of gloves and straps was also a focus of this shoot; the black armguards with gold patterns served as a great anchor against the white drape backdrop.

Prop texture is crucial for Cosplay photography expressiveness; for the staff's paint finish, we applied a dual treatment of wood grain and glossy surfaces, showcasing great three-dimensionality under different lightings. The long boots worn on both feet were also precisely color-matched, bringing visual balance to the entire long socks outfit. Overall, this was a challenging yet highly complete photoshoot. The coordination between the makeup/styling team and photographer brought this character to life; I hope this set of photos brings everyone a different perspective on this character's personality beyond the game.
