This styling for Chisa truly required a lot of care in the details. For the wig, I selected long straight black hair with a structured texture, cutting blunt bangs and face-framing sidelocks; to stay true to the original design, the right side was tied with a red ribbon bow that left long flowing streamers. The lenses were chosen in a high-saturation red paired with reddish eye makeup, deepened slightly at the outer corners so that my gaze would retain penetrating intensity beneath the booth's bright floodlights.
The outfit features abundant layering: the base layer is a navy modified cropped sailor top showing the midriff, detailed with white stripes along the collar and fastened with a vivid red tie patterned with gold cross-hatching. Over this went an oversized, dusty-purple techwear jacket heavily accented with black webbing straps, metal buckles, and cold-shoulder cutouts. Putting it on required untangling and straightening every single strap while adjusting the sleeve ruching for the right drape. Around the neck sits a black choker, with a barcode staff ID badge prop clipped to the waistband, rounded out by a dark pleated mini skirt, over-the-calf black Stockings, and leather uniform shoes.
Shooting in front of the blue arched booth backdrop, the overhead light was quite harsh. Fortunately, the contrast between the dark and light tones of the outfit was distinct, allowing the muted dusty purple of the jacket to cleanly pop against the blue background. The jacket fabric is lightweight and slightly translucent, which created pleasing visual depth against the darker sailor uniform underneath. Because of the numerous techwear straps, every pose change meant readjusting the hang of the jacket—especially during hands-on-hips or extended-arm poses, where I aimed to emphasize the flattering proportions of the mini skirt and knee-high Stockings.
Chisa's character naturally carries a cool, detached aura, so for expression management, I aimed for calm composure, occasionally hinting at a subtle, ambiguous half-smile while staring straight into the lens through the red eyes to capture that exact mood. With each shutter click, I had to ensure the bangs stayed put, the red streamers didn't billow too erratically in the airflow, and the clean silhouette lines of the black Stockings remained sharp. While coordinating this heavily accessorized look took considerable time, seeing the dynamic flow of the straps and ribbons in the finished shots made it thoroughly worthwhile. Shooting Convention photos at an expo always means wrestling with stray ambient lighting and crowds, but thanks to the relatively uncluttered backdrop and ample illumination, this shoot turned out to be a very satisfying realization of the design.
