This time, in order to cosplay Jahoda from Genshin Impact properly, I really obsessed over the details of the props and costume for a long time. Starting with the most eye-catching right-arm mechanical arm, this gauntlet has a massive volume. To make movements more natural during the shoot, lightweight materials were used internally as a skeleton, covered externally with EVA and PVC sheets for shaping. The gold, pink, and blue paint jobs on top were all hand-masked and spray-painted bit by bit. Especially the weathering and scratch treatments on the edges, which were adjusted repeatedly to present that battle-worn mechanical texture. The half-finger gloves with black bases and white fingertips on the fingers also underwent multiple modifications to achieve the ideal skin-tight fit. In terms of clothing, the pattern design is very special: a black-and-white top where the red and blue circular badges on the chest are the visual focal point, and the placement of the metal fasteners and belt design are also quite exquisite. For the cape on the back, I specially chose a bright pink lining, creating a sharp contrast with the black outer garment, and the jagged cut on the edges perfectly restores that uninhibited style. Regarding the wig, the braided styles on both sides of the top of the head were styled with a lot of hairspray, and the grey-black hat on top features red goggles whose lenses were intentionally chosen to have a reflective material, looking amazing under fill lights. The shooting venue was chosen to be an underground passage with a somewhat industrial vibe, which matches Jahoda's costume style exceptionally well. When lighting, the photographer used a cool-toned main light and a warm-toned rim light, allowing the metallic luster of the mechanical arm and the texture of the clothes to be perfectly displayed. The asymmetrical design of the lower body is particularly interesting: one side features black semi-sheer stockings, while the other side features white leg covers; the shoes also consist of one black leather shoe paired with a red sock. This asymmetry required constantly adjusting the center of gravity when posing, but it also made the movements look more dynamic and full of tension. Holding the heavy mechanical arm during the shoot was actually quite tiring, along with matching Jahoda's cool yet somewhat gap-moe expression, but seeing the final photos interlaced with light and shadow, all these preparations and hard work were totally worth it.
