On December 23, Amiya's birthday, the photos of six styled looks from the Arknights Unrealized Realities series were finalized. This photoshoot covered a broad thematic span, primarily revolving around transitioning between the character's emotional states in different atmospheres.
The first set is a classic black-and-white maid outfit, specially paired with white socks and black shoes to complement the overall cute poses. The second set is a gorgeous Western dress with starry sky motifs, black stockings, and high heels; the arch of the instep was carefully handled, and to accentuate flattering leg lines, I specifically selected grayish-black Cosplay stockings paired with high heels. The third set features a silver branch staff prop, shot from a low-angle wide view to evoke an imposing presence; while the staff prop was somewhat heavy, it served as an excellent balance point for posing. The fourth set features a violin, utilizing a static profile composition to emphasize long legs in black Cosplay stockings and graceful body curves. The fifth and sixth sets lean toward cozy, loungewear-style yellow maxi skirts and white dresses, conveying a relaxed, unguarded vulnerability through poses holding plushies.
To preserve the unique ambiance of Unrealized Realities, post-processing deliberately avoided heavy, saturated color grading, unifying the series with a clean, pure white background. The lighting simulated side backlighting to increase the contrast between the glossy highlights on the black stockings and the shadows of the skirt, emphasizing three-dimensionality and material textures. Makeup avoided exaggerated styling, focusing on defining eye contours so that the gaze could convey a coexistence of steadfast resolve and quiet exhaustion.
As a cosplayer in the studio, the demands on personal posture were exceptionally high. With a pure white background offering almost no visual distractions, the entire focus rested on physical expression. In the studio, I repeatedly adjusted my standing postures to showcase the sleek fluidity of leg lines, not only ensuring stability in movement, but also coordinating seamlessly with the photographer while tracking how light reflected off the Cosplay stockings. Even with my heels aching from the high-heeled shoes, I persevered through the entire shoot, knowing that meticulously polishing six outfits requires substantial time and energy.
Marking this special milestone of Amiya's birthday by interpreting Amiya through the lens of Unrealized Realities is not only a celebration of her birthday, but also a high-standard presentation of my own work on this franchise. While the shooting process was demanding, all six finalized photos achieved the intended professional finish. This share is primarily meant to document the authentic behind-the-scenes details of that shoot and commemorate this special day dedicated to Amiya.
