[Doctor and Priestess Cosplay] Originium Images Remaining in the Starry River

Capturing the moments of tonight's night shoot, and by the way, completing today's dose of Doctor and Priestess Cosplay study for the Arknights Creator Support Program. That motion-blurred snapshot taken by chance earlier looked incredibly atmospheric when I was organizing my album, so I decided to use it as the cover photo for this set. The background is a massive diamond-grid metal architectural structure. The night light penetrating through the grid naturally creates a geometric, mechanical vibe of a "space facility" or "research station," which perfectly fits the theme "remaining in the starry river."

To capture this night view cosplay effect, we chose this relatively dim environment for the shoot. To highlight the subject's outline at night, we used a hot-shoe flash paired with off-camera triggering during the shoot, bringing fill light to the face while preserving the geometric light spots in the environment as much as possible. The slow-shutter ghosting created by the person on the left turning around might easily look flat if it were a static frozen shot, but the motion blur instead grants her an illusion of traveling through the sea of stars. Even though this shot is indeed "blurry," it is precisely my personal favorite in this set. The outfit on the right is a solid character restoration. The white wig reflects a faint silver glow under the night lights, and the coat has a relatively stiff silhouette, requiring the inner lining and shoulder pads to prop up the character's spirited energy. The details on both of their outfits, such as the blue piping lines of the coat and the red embellishments from the chest to the waist, strive to restore the design according to the official concept art.

Speaking of the "pre-civilization" lore, it carries immense weight in the overall worldbuilding of Arknights. Therefore, when doing this cosplay, rather than shooting playful and cute styles, we preferred to convey that cool, melancholy, yet firmly protective feeling of guarding each other. Every time I put on this look and stand in the night wind, looking at the details of my attire, it's very easy to feel a disorienting sensation of crossing over to Terra. Wearing clothes of this style is quite physically demanding because the structure of the collar and shoulders needs to be kept highly upright. To maintain the character's atmosphere, movements and standing postures must be deliberately controlled.

Priestess's elegant white long coat has an excellent drape along the hem when she spins. Paired with black stockings and ankle boots, the visual layering is rendered exceptionally clear under the layered lighting of the flashes and streetlamps. Although the final photos look incredibly sharp, we were actually constantly adjusting the rising and falling angles of the cuffs and hem during the shoot. When the wind blew during the outdoor shoot, capturing that one perfect, natural dynamic moment required countless repeated attempts.

As a player, embodying such a story-driven character is not merely about mimicking an external image, but more like carrying one's own understanding of the game's lore to find the character's projection in the real three-dimensional world. The nighttime temperature was quite low, especially leaning by the water where the wind was strong and damp. However, every time I saw a captured frame that fit the thematic emotion, I felt all the early effort put into outfit coordination and props was completely worth it. This concludes today's report on our night view cosplay outdoor shoot. Since we have gathered this set of "Originium images" to prove that this leads to the stars, I can peacefully call it a day.
