[Arknights: Endfield] Tactical Style Outfit and Light & Shadow in the Bamboo Forest

Putting on this chief's attire, honestly, I feel completely energized and confident. Although it was an outdoor shoot, the texture and tailoring of the costume have much more depth and layering than imagined. The top utilizes a relatively structured white fabric, which surprisingly creates a lightweight translucent effect when paired with the backlit bamboo forest behind me. The red-and-black clashing color design on the collar and cuffs is highly eye-catching, and with the red tassels embellishing the chest, it forms an excellent visual focus in the frame. Especially with the translucent white outerwear layered over the black inner top, that looming contrast adds a touch of mystery to the overall combat style. The edges of the black shorts on the lower body feature striking yellow lines, maintaining a consistent color tone with the upper body. The thigh straps and tactical pouches are details I absolutely love about this outfit; they not only make the leg lines look more slender but also add that sharp, practical combat aura to the character. Although it isn't paired with stockings, the wrapping sensation of the straps makes it even easier to highlight the line aesthetics of the bare legs during dynamic poses.

Choosing a bamboo forest as the location for this shoot was actually quite challenging for our Bamboo forest photography. While the bamboo stalks are upright and straight, the lighting is very difficult to control. Fortunately, the sun happened to drop right into the gaps of the bamboo grove, forming beams of natural rim light. The photographer practically buried half of his body in the bushes to find angles, which is how we got those low-angle shots in the photos. Shooting was actually very physically demanding, especially the single-leg balance postures in Figures 1 and 2, which required constantly stabilizing my center of gravity, otherwise, the tail would look unnatural due to shaking. Although that large tail is fluffy and packed with texture, it is definitely a heavyweight prop; after fastening the belt, walking around carried a very heavy feel.

For the makeup, to fit the single-eyepatch image of this Animal-eared girl, the eye makeup was intentionally made deeper, paired with blue colored contact lenses to give my gaze more spirit in front of the lens. The placement of the animal-ear headpiece on top of my head was adjusted for a long time; because of the hairpin embellishments, I had to ensure the ears wouldn't tilt while letting the cross-clips securely catch into the hair, finally wrapping it up with a huge spray of styling hairspray before heading out. Outdoor shooting inevitably gets your hair messed up by the wind, but the wind-blown hair strands and tassels actually infused the frames with a bit of dynamic vitality. This attire of the chief truly unleashes an endless surge of energy—not just because the styling is complex, but more importantly, the sense of power brought by such a character makes the model unconsciously immerse themselves entirely into the role.

The prop details might not be obvious from afar, but up close, whether it's the patterns on the gloves or the buckles on the thigh rings, we tried our best to reproduce the textures of the original design. Throughout the afternoon shoot, we circled around the edges of the bamboo forest several times. Different angles allowed the bamboo grove to present entirely distinct background depths, with the brightness of direct sunlight as well as the deepness in the shadows. During post-editing, I also tried my best to preserve these layers of light and shadow, not wanting excessive modifications to mask that original, natural outdoor atmosphere. Shooting in this kind of natural setting is actually much more tiring than being in a studio, but it is far more rewarding for yielding stunning shots. When coordinating with the photographer, we deliberately avoided the peak hours for tourists, so the entire bamboo forest had almost just the two of us. At that moment, it truly felt as if the whole world had gone quiet, leaving only the sound of the shutter clicking and the rustling of the wind blowing through the bamboo leaves.

Overall, although this chief's attire demands a lot regarding details and physical strength, being able to capture the ideal visuals with the enhancement of the bamboo forest brought a highly magical feeling of becoming one with the character. The combination of the bamboo forest, light, shadow, and this attire inherently constructs a very harmonious scene for this tactical style outfit cosplay presentation.
