The preparation process for this costume was quite lengthy, especially handling the intricate waist structure and the special materials on the greatsword, which underwent about three adjustments. On the day of the shoot, due to the weight of the greatsword, holding it up with one hand to strike poses required significant wrist and core strength. The venue choices were relatively limited, so we primarily used lighting in a corner to build the atmosphere. This purple-pink main light source helped sculpt shadows nicely, though it easily made the skin look overly red, so post-processing mainly involved color separation and balancing to preserve the costume's inherent texture and sheen as much as possible. To better showcase the skirt's design and the leg lines with Stockings, we shot from two camera angles: standing and kneeling. The standing pose required engaging the core and straightening the legs, which was physically demanding. The kneeling pose was slightly less exhausting, but required careful placement of the greatsword on the floor to avoid disrupting the natural drape of the skirt's hemline. The white tall boots were custom-made, featuring geometric patterns made of special reflective material that stood out vividly under the purple light. The stitched edge of the tulle skirt had many intricate details, needing caution during the shoot to avoid snagging. The entire Photography session took about three hours. In the middle, due to large movement amplitudes, the hilt guard piece even fell off once and took a few minutes to pick up and re-secure. Although the whole process was somewhat tiring, seeing the effects rendered under different lighting angles made all the preparatory adjustments worthwhile. During color grading, the glowing visual effects and blade highlights were intentionally enhanced to maximize visual impact. With no one else around during the shoot, the quiet environment offered deep immersion, allowing me to easily get into character and refine the proud and commanding body language. Taking off the wig and headpieces after the shoot also took quite some time, making the whole day feel packed. For this cosplay, torso posture is crucial—even a slight slouch would ruin the overall imposing aura. Fortunately, the lighting and shooting angles that day successfully captured that desired cool elegance and sense of power, making it a very fulfilling Photography experience.
