This time, I'm releasing five sets of photos in entirely different styles all at once, ranging from an animal ears sporty style and black-and-white twintails to traditional folding fans, a pink-and-white magical girl, and an ethereal blue-and-white butterfly look. In fact, every costume and prop took a long time from preparation to shooting, and the hairstyle, makeup, and movement design all had to fit the corresponding character's temperament. Although it's all about the same core activity, the visual experience each style brings is completely different.
For instance, the animal ears set requires highlighting a lively and playful feeling, so the body movements need to be more extended and lighthearted. The black-and-white twintails set needs to emphasize sleekness, so the grip on the fan and the look in the eyes must carry that specific edge. The blue-and-white set, aimed at capturing a lightweight and dreamlike feeling, was specially coordinated with a water environment and butterfly props, and the overall cool-toned lighting required meticulous adjustment in post-processing.
Photographic works shot across different periods also show changes. From last year's style to the current exploration, I can clearly see my expression in front of the lens slowly maturing. Doing cosplay is not just about putting on a piece of clothing to me; it is about completely immersing myself into another atmosphere through this makeup and styling sharing session under the lens. Many people think that cosers look the same in every photo set, but in reality, different costumes, different themes, and even different moods will all affect the final presentation.
This set actually puts me from different stages together, capturing moments where I worked hard to look more refined, as well as attempts to break away from my previous image. Rather than trying to please anyone else's aesthetics, I care more about whether I can master the style I want to challenge. The cooperation of the photographer is also crucial; the choice of lighting and angles across different scenes allows the details of each outfit to shine. I truly enjoy this process of constantly adjusting my state in front of the camera, and I hope these photos allow everyone to see more of my diverse possibilities while trying different styles through this Roleplay journey.
