"Eating ice cream in winter..." This serves perfectly as the theme for this fandom-inspired outfit photoshoot. The cool-toned outer jacket paired with soft pink knit leg warmers creates a visual sensation akin to taking a crisp bite of mint chocolate ice cream in the winter.
This photoshoot theme is based on a Honkai: Star Rail Cyrene fandom magazine cover set. Unlike traditional anime cosplay that pursues a perfect replica of the original game outfits, this time we opted for a fresh approach: a fandom-inspired outfit. The entire ensemble cleverly blends the character's signature elements with casual streetwear and sportswear styles. The light blue windbreaker jacket features a lightweight texture, and the zipper designs on both sides add a subtle touch of techwear flair. Worn open, it reveals an inner white cropped T-shirt printed with soft pink English letters, layered over a light pink undershirt, showcasing distinct color layers while retaining the character's sweet attribute.
Speaking of character recreation, the most eye-catching feature is naturally this light gray knit beanie. The top sides of the hat specifically feature pointy "little elf ear" designs, echoing Cyrene's unique ear characteristics. The edge of the hat and the sides of the hair are adorned with light blue star-patterned hair clips. The pink wig was meticulously brushed, with both sides styled into fine braids so it doesn't look overly bulky, adding instead a touch of agility and liveliness. The blue-gray colored contacts paired with pink-orange eyeshadow try to create a sensation of a game character stepping right into reality.
The lower half combination can be called one of the highlights of the entire styling. The dark gray ultra-short skirt is lightweight and form-fitting. Instead of a conventional leather belt, a gray-and-white plaid fabric strip is casually tied around the waist, creating an effortless sense of lazy nonchalance. Pure white over-the-knee socks cover the thighs, with a slight thigh-squeeze effect intentionally kept at the top. Around the ankles, I layered two pairs of soft, chunky-knit pink leg warmers. This "sock-on-sock" layering method not only breaks the monotony of plain legs but also infuses a rich winter styling atmosphere into the overall look. Finally, it is paired with a pair of off-white chunky sneakers with a thick sole, featuring playful pink accents on the laces and sides, giving the entire color palette a solid landing point while boosting the body proportions.
For the shoot setting, we skipped the outdoors and chose an indoor booth area with blue-green toned walls. The deep teal walls and the light blue jacket, along with the bright pink hair, constitute a visually comfortable contrast of warm-and-cool and light-and-dark. The warm yellow LED light strips hidden beneath the wooden booth cast a soft rim light onto the subject, like a small fireplace ignited on a winter night. During the shoot, I tried a few lazy, relaxed postures, such as leaning against the table, lightly placing both hands on the hat, and leaning forward to interact with the lens. This leisurely state perfectly matches the vibe of everyday street snapshots.
In fact, breaking the fourth wall doesn't necessarily require wearing heavy performance costumes. For this fandom-inspired everyday outfit, almost every piece can be found as a basic staple in our own wardrobes. Whether it's a windproof tactical jacket, a high-waisted short skirt, or chunky sneakers, as long as you cleverly echo the character's theme colors through the color scheme, and add a custom hat or wig, you can instantly complete the "transformation." This concept of blending the 2D world into everyday life not only makes the photoshoot more relaxed and natural but also endows anime cosplay with more diverse possibilities that are closer to real life.
