[Helektra Cosplay] Unique Interweaving of Black and Red in Honkai: Star Rail

The core of this Helektra cosplay styling lies in capturing the character's overall aura, putting accuracy of details as top priority. When taking this photo, a simple indoor cafe was chosen as the location, leveraging natural light and warm tones of the counter background to highlight the visual contrast between the character's coldness and mysterious atmosphere.

Let's start with the head styling. A lot of effort went into trimming and styling this wig, especially the length and layering of the straight bangs across the forehead. Cutting it too thick would look dull, while making it too thin could lose the original charm, so I ultimately kept a breathing-room thick bang that just covers above the eyebrows, nicely framing the face along with side locks. The most striking element is the reddish-purple highlights extending to the hair ends on both sides, popping vibrantly against the black base while echoing the overall black-and-blue costume palette. To enhance visual texture, I used a flat iron before shooting to tame hair shine into a natural matte finish that softly catches lighting reflections.

Facial detailing is the soul of this Anime cosplay set. Wearing light-blue contact lenses with clear, crisp color instantly gave my eyes a deep, distant look. The blue mark on the left cheek is key to capturing the character's vibe. Before shooting, I tried several makeup techniques before choosing a cream eyeshadow applied with a small brush by gently tapping, blending the edges naturally to avoid stiffness and nicely complementing the blue contacts. Overall base makeup was kept relatively clean without heavy eyeshadows or bold lip colors, prioritizing gaze and facial markings to naturally draw visual focus to iconic character elements.

The accessories were truly heavy-duty. The most eye-catching feature is the neck choker. Built on a black base, it features an even row of plump white pearls with a larger center pearl, tied below with a vivid red ribbon bow—where red, white, and black intersect in exquisite detail. Wearing it for the first time required careful adjustment of tightness and centering to ensure it popped in front of the lens while remaining comfortable, as a crooked or loose accessory would ruin the overall ambiance. On my hands, black short leather gloves provided a unique luster and firm silhouette that matched the character's powerful and distant personality. Slightly raising a hand near the choker served as a visual guide, leading the viewer's gaze from the leather sheen to the opulent neck ornamentation.

The costume features a collar with prominent white ruffled frills; its softness contrasts nicely with the crisp leather gloves. The dark blue and black color-blocking on the main piece, combined with pinkish-purple stitched patterns, vividly expresses overall structure and color depth even though only the chest and shoulders were captured. Achieving a good result with this design required precise tailoring, so selecting and fitting the outfit took considerable time. The camera angle was slightly high and tilted, effectively elongating the neck line while giving a fuller arrangement to facial features and the choker without low-angle distortion. Wooden tables, chairs, and warm ambient light in the background complemented the scene without stealing attention, keeping the image clean with focus locked onto the character in this Role-playing game cosplay presentation.

After finalizing this photo set, it actually sat on my hard drive for a while. Sorting through RAW files, I felt this shot was particularly striking. Although often jokingly referred to as "Okhema's No.1 straight girl," portraying a character with such a distinct vibe brings a surprising contrast charm. I hope this restoration of character aura and attention to detail lets everyone appreciate the aesthetic beauty of this look.
