[Plana cosplay] Blue Archive dark Qipao style visual sketch

The visual core of shooting Plana this time was placed on the combination of dark style and oriental elements. The overall clothing chose a modified version of the black Qipao, retaining the classic design of the mandarin collar and frog buttons, but to better fit the character's temperament, I deliberately added white flower decorations and wide ruffles at the shoulders and cuffs, making the overall tailoring more full of tension in the anime context. The wig is customized long white hair, with the hair ends meticulously groomed, paired with the floating pink halo on top of the head and black-and-white hair accessories, maximizing the character's recognizability visually at first glance. In terms of makeup, the emphasis was placed on the deep sense of the eye makeup, and soft blush was added to the cheeks, trying to balance the sternness brought by the overall dark system, giving the character an extra touch of cuteness unique to a loli.
A large number of paper talismans in the frame are the most important props of this shoot, as well as the most difficult part to handle. To make these paper pieces present an ideal floating and scattering effect in the air, we used extremely thin fishing lines for fixation on-site, matched with multiple leaf blowers to blow them, and later edited out the giving-away lines piece by piece in post-processing. In the final image, the paper talismans surround the character's body, matching the floating light spots in the background to present a twisted space with a hint of surreal color and a sense of disorder. When shooting, I stood near a distressed wooden box, matching the dark-toned industrial-style venue, and the top point light source naturally formed beautiful bokeh, creating an atmosphere that is mysterious and a bit eerie. Actually, the dust on the shooting site was quite heavy that day, and to maintain that cool and aloof demeanor in the frame, I also had to maintain a high-difficulty standing posture for a long time. High heels stepping on the concrete floor are really quite a challenge.
Regarding the display of the costume, the combination of black high stockings and glossy thick-soled high heels visually greatly lengthened the leg lines, and it is also one of the key points this set of photos hopes to highlight. The spliced and misaligned spatial effect in the middle of the frame actually utilizes special post-processing techniques to break the conventional composition, making the same styling produce mirror interactions in parallel spaces. Although this is only a sketch creation, in action design and camera blocking, we tried a lot of different angles, striving to present a three-dimensional illusion on a two-dimensional plane. For example, hand gestures, the arc of the skirt hem blown by the wind, every detail needed to be adjusted repeatedly to present the most natural dynamic moment.
In the studio, to maintain the character's state, I tried to keep my sitting posture upright even during breaks, avoiding messing up the clothes and wig. Wigs are prone to tangling, especially white ones, so every touch-up required extra care, combing it bit by bit with a special comb. The photographer controlled the light and shadow very well; we communicated for a long time and decided to make more use of the top light source to highlight the character's three-dimensional sense. The environment of the shooting location was actually a bit noisy, but once entering the lens, all attention needed to be focused on showing the character's atmosphere, completely shielding out those messy background sounds.
Shooting such fantasy-colored characters, from preliminary preparation to on-site execution, the detailed coordination of the costume and physical strength are no small tests. Because the material of the clothes is relatively thick and heavy with limited breathability, maintaining a single posture for a long time under strong light, and adjusting the skirt hem and hair strands are all quite energy-consuming. But looking at that little zombie image with a hint of mystery and extreme visual impact in the final photos, I feel all the tossing and turning is totally worthwhile. This is not just a pile-up of clothes, but through lens language, kneading the clothes, scene, and character state together to restore the fantasy picture that exists in the mind. This shoot also brought me many new realizations in action interpretation, and I look forward to trying more breakthrough visual expressions in the future.
