[Tanga Ibuki cosplay] Blue Archive's Summer Wandering Girl

The character I cosplayed is Tanga Ibuki from Blue Archive. Taking advantage of this independent anime convention tour at the Firefly ACG Expo, I finally brought out this look that I had been planning for quite a while. What attracts me most about this outfit is its unique and cute mix-and-match style, which has elements of a student uniform while being paired with highly conspicuous little devil details.

To recreate that ring-shaped halo with spikes on top of the head, I tweaked and tested several versions in terms of material and fixation, aiming both to ensure it has a certain reflective texture under the light and to guarantee that it won't easily fall off when moving around in crowded anime conventions. The black horns and pointed elf ears are key to shaping the character's traits, and the golden twin tails were specifically curled to an appropriate fluffiness, paired with a black lace bow headband to keep the visual focus on top of the head very stable.

The main outfit features a navy blue sleeveless pleated jumper dress with a classic white short-sleeved turn-down collar shirt as inner wear; that touch of bright red slender bowtie at the neckline is a highly brilliant embellishment. The skirt hem and cuffs both have white piping, preventing the dark-colored dress from looking too dull. To fit the character's original setting and to make it easier to walk during outdoor shooting, I specially put on those bright yellow short rain boots. The bright yellow and deep navy blue form a very strong contrasting color clash, and the boot openings are also paired with small white bows, fully packed with a sense of detail.

The flat black bat wings on the back and the crossbody plush bear bag are even more indispensable soul accessories. The size of the bear bag is just right, with its golden chain slung across the body, swaying with the body as I walk, adding plenty of playful atmosphere. In the fourth picture, the red, white, and black prop gun brought out pulls the style of the entire look to its peak, with a bear charm hanging beneath the gun barrel, making it both confident and highly interesting to hold in hand while posing.

The shooting location this time was right on the roadside outside the venue of the Firefly ACG Expo. The scene featured those orange-and-white traffic cones and blue isolation iron railings; these originally very ordinary elements instead added a sense of reality of street life to the frame. The photographer @大野茶 is highly skilled at capturing this kind of agility under natural light. The ring-shaped halo and the golden hair strands look exceptionally translucent under the soft light, and the background woods and distant crowd are cleaned up thoroughly by the large aperture lens, dropping the focus of the entire image instantly onto the person.

In a venue like an anime convention filled with various creativity and passion, being able to complete such a set of dynamic photos on the roadside during the gaps of an independent tour is a very wonderful experience. From the initial try-on and pattern-making to finally standing in front of the camera and finding this character's unique sense of relaxation, the polishing of every detail was presented in this shoot. The bright yellow rain boots stepping on the ground, and the sunlight casting natural shadows on the skirt hem—this is probably the most delightful moment when a 2D character walks into 3D reality under cosplay photography.
