[Tachibana Hikari and Tachibana Nozomi cosplay] Blue Archive: Gym Uniform Highlander Twins

After a whole month, I've finally sorted through the photos from this gym uniform shoot. We selected an indoor sports equipment room as our location, hoping to reproduce that everyday atmosphere belonging to the Highlander Twins in Blue Archive. The metal lockers, wooden vaulting boxes, and scattered volleyballs in the background instantly infused the entire frame with a genuine athletic vibe.

As for the outfit, we went with pure white short-sleeved athletic tops and dark blue sports shorts, specifically picking slim-fit cuts to match the characters' iconic design. This white-and-blue pairing combined with White over-the-knee socks looks visually clean and serves as a favorite styling element among fellow fans. We selected breathable cotton for the over-the-knee socks, ensuring both athletic practicality and crisp leg lines in front of the lens.

Beyond the clothing, the light-green long hair was another core styling focus. The wig was smoothed down to keep the layering on the bangs and tips looking as natural as possible. The halo-effect hair accessory on top and the pointed elf ears represented the more anime-esque elements of this look; surprising us, they blended seamlessly into the real-world equipment room, striking a wonderful stylistic harmony.

In terms of posing, one shot features my partner and me sitting on the vaulting box holding a volleyball, which serves as a classic portrait shot. In another shot, my partner sits in front waving while I strike a shushing gesture behind her—a candid capture that actually took quite a bit of effort. Extending one hand off-camera while keeping my other hand over my mouth, this interaction highlighted my playful demeanor and added narrative depth to the scene, making it look like we were rehearsing a show during PE class or exchanging secret glances away from a teacher's sight.

To convey this lively energy, we avoided forced influencer posing during the shoot, opting instead for fluid micro-movements to relax our facial expressions and body language. The height of the vaulting box was ideal for showcasing full-body character proportions, especially the transition between socks and shoes—lowering the camera angle slightly elongated the perspective nicely.

For post-processing color grading, we refrained from heavy filters, maintaining warm indoor lighting tones to keep skin looking healthy and flushed. We stripped down the makeup, avoiding heavy eyeliner and relying primarily on orange-red eyeshadow accents to reflect the character's vibrant, energetic aura.

The shooting process was actually quite funny. Because volleyballs are round, they kept slipping out of our hands; several times, the sound of a volleyball bouncing down alerted people in the adjacent changing room. The equipment room remained quiet except for the shutter clicks and our cues for adjusting poses—a focused atmosphere that was truly enjoyable to immerse in.

Balancing anime aesthetics with reality is crucial, especially when tackling a Gym uniform cosplay concept. Over-the-knee socks, athletic shorts, and a white tee naturally bring a youth filter of their own. Paired with volleyballs and vaulting boxes, simple composition is enough to showcase that vitality without needing overly complex lighting setups. Wanting to keep the frame clean, we even tidied up background clutter beforehand.

With this attempt, I am particularly satisfied with blending the gym uniform aesthetics into an athletic scene. As the Highlander Twins, their actions are naturally paired together, making dual-character composition far more engaging than solo shots. Taking up the interactive position on the vaulting box while my partner handled the front framing and waving, this staggered depth added dynamic tension to what would otherwise be a static outfit display. Without chasing extreme extravagance, the shoot won out on authenticity, showcasing the characters' lively, candid nature within this gym uniform setup and equipment room atmosphere.
