[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: A Brand New Day - Image 1

Pouring immense dedication into this Sunna styling from preparation to the outdoor location shoot, every detail required careful execution. Upon unboxing the garments, I cross-referenced the character sheets meticulously, realizing that piecing and adjusting the intricate elements was the most demanding part. For instance, the white short-sleeve shirt needed a crisp, structured silhouette to support the layering between the red tie and belt. The star motif on the tie was hand-painted stroke by stroke using acrylics; to lock in brightness and saturation, I sealed it with a layer of matte protective varnish. The small black heart adornment on the chest was initially too flat, so I resculpted it with ultra-light clay, air-dried, sanded, and painted it to achieve sufficient three-dimensional depth.

The skirt is a multi-layered black puff skirt, anchored visually by the oversized yellow-and-green bow at the waist, supported by stiff mesh lining to prevent drooping during the session. The black pointed panels along the skirt's lower hem easily snagged against each other while walking; while waiting backstage, I constantly smoothed them out to avoid awkward fabric tangles on camera.

Prop-wise, the pink-and-white megaphone was the heaviest asset. Since the raw model's details were blurry, I filled the seams with putty, reprimed it, and used masking tape to separate the pink and white color blocks meticulously. The central green disc was coated with fluorescent paint, producing a subtle polarized shimmer under natural sunlight. Holding it single-handedly while posing tested arm strength significantly; to keep the angle steady, I calibrated my posture a dozen times before nailing that effortless yet non-rigid poise.

The wig features a light green base; to mimic turquoise dip-dye highlights, I blended hair fibers of varied hues, using a flat iron to curl the crown outward slightly. Accessories like the black-and-white heart clips and small cyan wings were secured to slip-resistant anchor points, and the black choker was chosen in leather to contour the neckline closer than fabric alternatives. Makeup emphasized the upward flick of the outer eye corners, paired with subtle blush and a classic red matte lip tint, keeping the overall complexion crisp and clean to prevent heavy cakey textures under outdoor light.

The asymmetrical leg design is one of my favorite features of this styling: the right leg sports a pink studded leg ring with white over-the-knee Stockings, while the left leg features a black leg ring paired with pink-striped mid-calf socks. Due to differing sock materials and elasticities, to prevent unsightly indentation marks, I used a segmented wearing method with anti-slip tape and transparent bra straps for internal security, keeping strides controlled during positioning to avoid slippage or bunching that could disrupt the visual lines. Though brand new, the white platform shoes offered decent shock absorption, making a full day of walking across zebra crossings surprisingly comfortable.

The outdoor location was chosen along a street featuring a zebra crossing, where architecture and foliage supplied natural lighting and textural gradients. Afternoon lighting was rather harsh; to bypass fierce overhead sun, I opted for sidelighting angles, shifting slightly into shadows while filling facial light with a reflector. When capturing dynamic motion, given the short skirt and platform shoes, I adjusted my center of gravity, driving movement through my hips to infuse rhythm into overall postures.

Despite the hurdles, seeing how tangible the props and garments looked in the final frames made every iterative adjustment fully worthwhile. Capturing Sunna's unapologetic, high-energy spirit through action and illumination made this an immensely gratifying role-playing game and cosplay experience.
