This set of photos was shot in a cool-toned industrial cabin studio; the metallic textures and dim lighting of the environment were perfect for sculpting the character's aloof, cool atmosphere. The costume consists of a custom white shirt paired with black harness straps and a miniskirt. The fabric holds its shape well, evoking the rigorous professionalism of a researcher, while the Black stockings and high heels accentuated the leg lines nicely. The black hair featured dark red highlights at the tips, and purple colored contacts made the gaze appear even deeper and more detached.
During the shoot, rim lighting from the side-rear primarily created translucency along the edges of the hair, while soft frontal light ensured clarity for the skin and eyes, yielding a clean, porcelain-cool complexion. The document prop in hand added narrative storytelling, as if reading or recording crucial data. Drawing inspiration from the quote "Do not go gentle into that good night," this character carries a sense of decisive resolve and weathered gravity, so I intentionally restrained smiles, maintaining sharp focus and emotional control.
The shots sitting on the floor adopted an intentionally vacant, contemplative posture—resting my center of gravity on one hand while casually draping the other over my knee. With numerous optical cables scattered across the venue, this industrial clutter nicely set off the crisp neatness of the costume. The looking-back angle was also deliberately posed, requiring careful control over facial muscle tension to keep the gaze luminous and clear. Throughout the process, the hair and bangs required the most attention: wind inside the cabin blew them messy easily, which also had to synchronize with the shutter rhythm of the film camera. The entire makeup and styling ensemble felt distinctly cold and sharp, aiming to present an otherworldly serenity and convey Priestess's enigmatic sense of omniscience through visual imagery. As a fan of Arknights, attempting this Priestess cosplay was a very fresh experience, allowing me to explore diverse lighting setups and gain valuable insights into Industrial style photography. Reviewing the RAW captures after wrapping up, the fusion of cool tones and dark aesthetics felt truly ideal.
